Evil Dead: An Animated Tribute
The Evil Dead franchise is one of the most important sets of films in my cinematic life. The reasons are actually quite complex. The slapstick style of the horror presented by Sam Raimi in the three films made the horror genre much more accessible and easier to accept for me as a youngster. Also, it introduced me to the wonderful work of Sam Raimi, and would lead to the genius eventually making the Spider-Man trilogy. And finally it allowed me to fall in love with Ash, one of the greatest heroes ever portrayed by the one & only Bruce Campbell!!! Olly Moss (the one above) created an cool poster for Mondo back in 2010, and that poster helped inspire this unreal minute & a half animated clip from Daniel Kanemoto that commemorates all three films in the series. This one will take fans of the series back down memory lane!!! See the clip after the jump...

News Team Assemble by Adam Limbert
It is Mustache Month over at Planet Pulp (I shit you not... all of their featured art this month features characters with mustaches!!!) and one of the best contributions so far has to have come from Adam Limbert. Limbert decided to create his own comic book that consists of a super team... but this ain't The Avengers. It's San Diego's Mightiest Heroes - The Channel 4 News Team!!! Lead by the mustachioed Ron Burgundy, they are the absolute top of the crop out in the So-Cal area. Forget those guys from Channel 2 News... those dirtbags have been in 3rd place for 5 years!!!! Check out the full size pic after the jump...
'Red Hook Summer' - Spike Lee Comes Back To NYC!!!!
It's Summer in the NYC... so what better way to celebrate than another Spike Lee Joint? Spike is heading back to the Big Apple with Red Hook Summer, a film that has built up a lot of buzz coming off it's premiere at the Sundance Film Festival. It has been trimmed down a bit (from 132 min to 121 minutes), but it seems as if Lee is heading back to his early types of films with this one. Being the huge fan that I am of hits like Do The Right Thing, Jungle Fever, 25th Hour & Crooklyn, I am really excited to see my man Spike back in the NY groove. Enjoy the trailer after the jump... and support independant filmmakers and NYC films!!!
Cabin In The Woods by Hopko Design
Cabin In The Woods is a polarizing flick... people either love it or they hate it. I have heard more people express that they liked it, but it does have some detractors. One thing is for certain, it is full of originality. Joss Whedon brought the fuck with a great story, and Drew Goddard directed a hell of a good film. I love the cast, and I especially love the everyday workers at The Company (if you haven't seen the movie you don't know who I am talking about... but if you have, I only have two words: Mer Men!!!!) who make the film so awesome. Richard Jenkins & Bradley Whitford steal the show, and they also happen to be the inspiration for Hopko Design's alternate version of the movie poster. This one is dope!!! You can see more of their work by clicking here, and click after the jump for the full poster!!!

CCD's 1st Look At Black Dynamite: The Animated Series
Black Dynamite may very well be the funniest movie I have seen in the past 10 years. A perfect exploitation movie in every sense of the word, with an awesome cast (Michael Jai White, Tommy Davidson, Arsenio Hall, Kym Whitley, etc,), some of the most racist slurs ever uttered on film, and a great directorial debut from my main man Scott Sanders (click here to see why he is CCD's favorite director!). If you haven't seen it, it is streaming on Netflix now. But you better get to it quick, because Black Dynamite: The animated Series is coming to Cartoon Network on July 15th!!!! Made by the dudes who brought you The Boondocks and voiced by the actors from the movie itself, this one is going to be epic!!!! Check out the trailer after the jump and beware of Kung Fu trickery, you moon crickets....

A Month Of Batman by Jeb Kennedy
Jeb Kennedy seems to be a pretty good graphic artist. No matter how great his work could ever be, it will take a ton just to equal up to his latest idea. He is doing a full months worth of posts over at his blog dedicated to Batman, leading up to the release of The Dark Knight Rises on July 20th! That means 25+ pieces featuring cool ass Batman related characters and the like to build up the hype for the latest (and probably greatest) Batman flick to hit the screen. You can keep up with the posts daily by clicking here and see my favorites of the bunch so far after the jump....
Epic Misney by T Campbell & John Waltrip
A few weeks back the Internet was abuzz with news coming out of the Las Vegas Licensing Expo in regards to the plans for the Disney & The Marvel Universes to collide. The partner companies will start tying characters from both worlds in with one another, most notably starting with Phineas & Ferb crossing over with some of Marvel's finest heroes. But to celebrate the genuine idea that the two world could co-exist we get an unbelievable painting from T Campbell & John Waltrip that pairs some of the all time Disney greats with their equally important Marvel cohorts. You gotta love some of the pairings in this one. Squirrel Girl with Chip & Dale? Captain Hook with Wolverine? Fing Fang Foom with Malificent? Namor & Ariel? Donald & Howard the Ducks? Doc Strange vs Geenie? Wow... wow!!! You can order this cool ass print for just 14.99 by clicking here! Check out the full piece after the jump....
'The Star Wars That I Used To Know' by Teddie Films
Gotye's 'Somebody That I Used To Know' has been quite the big hit over the past 6 months... and it has also been the source of countless parodies, some corny and others even cornier. But if you try anything enough times, eventually things have to work out. This is definitely the case with Teddie Films version of the hit song, this one with a crazy Star Wars twist. Anybody who hates the prequels will absolutely love this... and even if you are a prequel apologist like my main man Jeff Bond (and me as well!!!) you will find it funny as well. All good fun. Now seriously, lets all hope Lucas is finished tinkering with the love of our lives...
Proof That There Is A God: Rachel McAdams Edition
I caught The Notebook (probably the best chick flick ever) on TV last night and was reminded of how hot I think Rachel McAdams is. She has a classic look to her and pulls of both blonde and brunette rather well. One of the things I love about her is the way she constantly revisits the styles of the olde time days, especially with her hairstyles. Plus she is the chick that tamed the Baby Goose... that means a lot here at CCD!!!! Pics after the jump....
Vampire Slayers Throughout History: An Infographic
Vampires are big right now... and whenever you have vamps, you are going to have vampire hunters. Even when vampires are portrayed as good, people are conditioned to think they are bad and try to kill them. That is just the way vampire stories go. So the gang over at Cheeszburger decided to collect all the critical data on the most famous vampire hunters throughout fiction. Suspiciously Abraham Lincoln was left off of this list. You would think with the current success of the Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter film he would be in there, but no... at least we get an appearance from Simon Belmont!!!! Click after the jump for the full infographic....
In Other News, Malcolm McDowell Just Don't Give A F@#K...
Malcolm McDowell is one of my favorite actors. He is one of those guys that has always caught my eye in every film he is in. I first remember seeing him in Time After Time, and then as a teen I discovered him in A Clockwork Orange & Caligula. And more recently I loved him in the Rob Zombie Halloween films as well as Gangster #1, which is one of the greatest gangster films ever made. I always loved Mr. McDowell, because the dude just brings it in every film.... but he also old now, and that means he just doesn't give a fuck about speaking candidly anymore! When people get old, they just seem to care less and less about being politically correct and what other people care about. While he sat down at the Hero Complex Film Festival with an LA Times writer at the 40th Anniversary screening for A Clockwork Orange for 15 minutes he went on to: Tell a story about Peter Sellers doing dope, talk about how he was unimpressed with Kubrick's genius, bashed The Avengers and other modern action movies, abused the Star Trek franchise and said just how much of favor he did Trekkies by killing Captain Kirk, abused Professor X's life, meeting Gene Kelly and just how fun the rape scene to Singing In The Rain was, and lamented the fact that he will never watch A Clockwork Orange again. All that in 15 minutes!!! I really love old people for the fact that they give way less than a fuck... and they are not afraid to tell you about it! Great interview all around. How A Movie Theater Should Be Laid Out In Real Life
I am one of those people who absolutely love attending movies at the theater. I love the popcorn, the fountain sodas, the loud speakers, the giant screen, the trailers for all the upcoming movies... I love everything about the movie going experience. Well... almost everything. One of the things that I hate is the fact that other patrons don't revere the movie going experience quite like I do, and they act very flippant about things like talking, using cell phones, and bothering others by constantly getting up. So how could you limit this from happening? The gang over at The Oatmeal have constructed the perfect movie theater, one that rewards the well behaved movie goer and punishes the inconsiderate. I would frequent this theater in a second!!! Check out the double paneled picture after the jump....

Ya See, Spain Is Good For Something..... Check Out Kate Upton In Vogue Spain!!!
'The Prototype' - A New Film From The Bandito Brothers
The Bandito Brothers were responsible for one of the surprise action movie hits of last year, 'Act of Valor'. That movie featured real life Navy Seals as the actors, and because of that there was an extreme credibility & sincerity in the way it was executed. There next project is a very cool looking action flick called The Prototype, which features a human with robot elements that escapes his government handlers and is trying to evade capture. I love the look of the suit... it reminds me a lot of the 80's version of Snake Eyes from G.I. Joe. This is a teaser just meant to highlight the story and secure funding, so most (or all for that matter) of this footage wont even see the time of day. But this is definitely a great way to spend 3 and a half minutes... Thanks to Jedi rob for the assist!!! Video is embedded after the jump...
Super Modern Mario Brothers
Super Mario Brothers for Nintendo is one of the greatest games ever created, and it holds up quite well. While games have advanced over the years to the point that they are almost lifelike, the NES classic still holds up in terms of functionality and ability to hold a child's interest. But if the game was being released for the first time in this day and age, there would have to be some changes made. They could keep the side scrolling action, the Goomba & Koopa enemies, and the flagpole... but they would have to tweak things like what would happen to the enemies when you killed them, what powers the power-ups would give you, and how the hell a plumber from Brooklyn could slide down a 100 foot flagpole without a problem!!!! Check out the video from BM Studios called Super Modern Mario Brothers after the jump, and see just how great a new Mario release would be....
Reservoir Dogs by Ibraheem Youssef
I love alternate movie posters, probably because of the fact that the majority of movie posters put out officially these days suck. They do not take the time to create a witty, thought provoking image that is representative of an aspect of the film... nope, now most of the time we get a bunch of floating heads and slanted backgrounds (why is this so popular now?). Gone are the days of painted images, iconic posters, and important artistic contributions... but the Internet has brought those days back, albeit in a non official capacity. Ibraheem Youssef has some killer work on his website from a plethora of films, but the one that stood out to me had to be his Reservoir Dogs poster, so that is the one I chose to focus on featuring today. Make sure you check out his work by clicking here, and click after the jump for the Reservoir Dog piece...
