Vampires are big right now... and whenever you have vamps, you are going to have vampire hunters. Even when vampires are portrayed as good, people are conditioned to think they are bad and try to kill them. That is just the way vampire stories go. So the gang over at Cheeszburger decided to collect all the critical data on the most famous vampire hunters throughout fiction. Suspiciously Abraham Lincoln was left off of this list. You would think with the current success of the Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter film he would be in there, but no... at least we get an appearance from Simon Belmont!!!! How A Movie Theater Should Be Laid Out In Real Life

I am one of those people who absolutely love attending movies at the theater. I love the popcorn, the fountain sodas, the loud speakers, the giant screen, the trailers for all the upcoming movies... I love everything about the movie going experience. Well... almost everything. One of the things that I hate is the fact that other patrons don't revere the movie going experience quite like I do, and they act very flippant about things like talking, using cell phones, and bothering others by constantly getting up. So how could you limit this from happening? The gang over at The Oatmeal have constructed the perfect movie theater, one that rewards the well behaved movie goer and punishes the inconsiderate. That Guy Ray Bradbury Seemed To Know What He Was Talking About When he Was Writing Science "Fiction"

Ray Bradbury passed away last week and I am a dick because I never took a second to pay him proper tribute. Bradbury is responsible for a litany of literary classics, most notably in the Sci Fi genre. His best known works would probably be The Martian Chronicles, The Illustrated Man, and one of my all time favorite books Fahrenheit 451. But after he passed away, lots of other more responsible/respectable sites (we suck here at CCD...sorry!!!) ran cool stories in tribute to Mr. Bradbury. One of the best ones that I saw had to an infographic of all the predictions that Ray Bradbury made in his books that ended up coming true in real life. In sci fi people take chances when they "predict" what technology will come in the future, but it seems like my man Ray had much more than a hope when constructing his ideas of what technology in the future would look like. Well played Mr. Bradbury!!! Take a look at the infographic after the jump and if you have never read a Bradbury book put it onto your to do list ASAP....

Pulp Fiction: The Official Infographic by Noah Smith

Pulp Fiction is a masterpiece of a film... a true originator in the art form of flashback/flashforward story telling. It was the second time Tarantino used that flashback/flashforward format (Reservoir Dogs jumps all over as well) that we often see imitated by many other directors. While the story itself is pretty simple to put together AFTER you watch it (especially as many times as I have seen it!), the true layering of the story is pretty intricate. Cue Noah Smith, a graphic designer and self confessed Tarantino enthusiast, who wanted to create the definitive infographic to properly organize a timeline of the events in the film. Exophrine Explains The Ending Of Titanic... Properly!!!

With the re-release of Titanic in 3-D and the 100th anniversary of the actual ship sinking occurring rather recently, this seems like as good as time as any to talk about the controversy surrounding the ending of Cameron's hit movie. Could Rose have allowed Jack some space on that floating door and maybe save the love of her life? Or was it inedible that Jack had to die in order for Rose to live? Morgan Freeman is the shit. This guy has been making movies for the better part of 35 years, gets better as he goes on, and can pretty much play any role. Shit, the guy played a black president 10 years before Obama and played GOD!!!! If he could pull of those traditional typecast as whiteguy roles, than he can play anything! Need Help Understanding Inception? Matt Dempsey Got Your Back...

Inception has been featured on HBO a lot lately and I have been watching it whenever I can. To me it is one of the most original movies I have ever seen and proves Chris Nolan is much more than the guy who brought back the Bat as a filmmaker. Like any complicated movie it asks the viewer to think and follow a multi-level story across multiple landscapes which can all be very confusing. This turns off a ton of people, but for the viewers who can dedicate their brain to the flick for two hours it is very rewarding. But web designer Matt Dempsey thought it could be very beneficial if he could design an interactive website to explain each level of the dreams in Inception. He color codes all of the characters and properly explains who is doing what on each level of the dream. Even though I feel like I got the movie (I'm probably wrong...lol), this animated info-graphic helped me out alot and made me that much more eager to revisit the film again. Hey World... Meet Woola!!!

I absolutely loved John Carter (check my review a few posts up from this), but the thing that impressed me
the most had to be the portrayal of Woola, John Carter's Calot (lizard dog for all of you guys who didn't read the books). Woola was always one of my favorite parts of the Carter books, probably because of how faithful he is to Carter and how viscous he can be when it's time to attack. Woola also seems to have been the inspiration for the Direwolves in George R.R. Martin's 'A Song Of Ice & Fire', just another in a long line of Carter inspired ideas that dummies will think are ripped off in this movie despite the fact that the Carter books are over 100 YEARS OLD!!! Disney is starting to realize that people like the lightning fast pup, so they are doing some post release marketing to help win some people over. Mad Magazine Asks: Who Said It? Mitch Romney or Mr. Burns???

While I often have an opinion whenever a political discussion occurs in my vicinity, I hardly ever use the hallowed pages of CCD to forward my own political agenda. It's just not fitting with the general tone of the blog (nothing against any blogs who do use their pages to promote political ideals). But when I came across this following info-graphic comparing the words of Mitt Romney to Mr. Burns from The Simpsons I almost fell the fuck over laughing. How great is this? This Romney character is such a crackpot that his own words could seem to have come from one of the most sarcastically & greed based written characters in TV history!!! Mad Magazine has certainly fell off in the past few years, but this is top tier stuff right here. Thanks to Cal from the Cave of Cool for unearthing this gem. Now that I am  in my 30s I have to admit that I can't eat McDonald's anymore. Not because the menu has changed drastically or because I don't want to... that is not the case at all. It is simply due to the fact that my stomach can't take the horrible quality food anymore. God knows that I still love me an apple pie every once and again, and that I feel the Egg McMuffin should be considered a national treasure... but lets be honest : The food at McDonald's is pretty crappy. Oh... Now I Get It! (No I Don't)

Talk about confusion. Although I am a huge fan of almost every Legend of Zelda game in the franchise's history, I have to admit that I have often been confused as to exactly WHEN in time certain games take place. The series jumps around quite a bit, with the two original games (Zelda and Adventures of Link) occurring last in time frame. So what does a real fan of Link and the gang really need to properly understand everything? The History Of The WWF Championship In A Minimalist Poster

This poster is part of a project by the very talented Shahed Syed, an architect in training who specializes in 3-D images and infographics. He compiled an amazing infographic on the history of the WWF Championship between the years 1984-2002 (click here to see it) that is superimposed over a heavyweight belt. It is awesome. But here is a poster that features the icon images of each wrestler used in the infographic itself, and it is a piece of minimalist gold. Click to see the poster after the jump.

  This is just so awesome. Takes me back to the good old days of Saturday Night's Main Event, Battle Royale's with everyone trying to gang up on Big John Studd or Andre The Giant, and Hulk Hogan's Saturday Morning Cartoon. A great time in wrestling history. Here is the poster.

The Definitive Dr. Who (#'s 9,10, and 11)Timeline Infographic

This is a definitive infographic of the time traveling adventures of the 9th, 10th, and 11th incarnations of Dr. Who and all of his varied companions. This makes things a bit easier to understand, if you watch the show... which you all should be! Dr. Who is the best Sci-Fi show I have ever watched in my entire life. Seasons 1-5 are available for Instant Streaming on Netflix (I am currently finishing up Season 4), and Season 6 is happening right now. If you are a sci-fi geek like me, make it happen. you will not be disappointed.

What Is The Source Code?

The 2nd film from director Duncan Jones (his 1st, Moon, was incredible) stars Jake Gyllenhaal, Vera Farmiga and Michelle Monaghan and opens April 1. I for one can not wait to see it.
