CCD Presents: Dave Ryan of Manticore Stencil Art Live From The Floor of the 2013 NY Comic Con
One of the creepiest and trippiest booths I passed on my laps around the floor had to be the Manticore Stencil Art booth. I am no stranger to mash-ups, no matter how strange and weird they may be. I am also no stranger to weird mediums of art. And artist Dave Ryan has surprised me both of those categories with some of the most unusual stuff I have ever seen. Yoda hanging in a strip club, getting a killer view from down low? Michael Jackson and E.T. chillin by a river? Luke getting a ticket in his speeder from a motorcycle cop? Chewy catching a haircut from Edward Scissorhands? Mario coming out of a warp pipe in a real river? Yup, all of these are subject of pieces that Dave has created. And the art itself, not just the ideas, are very unique. He takes old records and stencils his creations on those. He makes over-sized, oil painted canvases and 3 x 2 inch magnets. He offers prints for a very low denomination. And he does it all with a huge smile on his face! Dave was real cool, and honestly he gave us a great interview. I picked up a bunch of magnets and a print, and I wanted to buy so much more! You can see some of the pieces I liked the best after the jump, as well as the full embedded video. You can also head over to their site by clicking here and buy some stuff... and tell him Mike D from CCD sent ya!!!!

This Is Thriller... Lego Style!!!
I came across this excellent short Lego animation video while I perusing Vimeo (something more people should do) and I knew I had to post this for my buddies Jeff Bond and Joe Fletch, who are both two big Lego nerds. In this video the people from the Talking Animals Animation Studio take the opening scene of Michael Jackson's Thriller and absolutely kill it. The transformation of Jackson's from a Varsity jacket wearing boyfriend to John Landis designed werewolf using those little colored bricks is just spectacular to see. And Talking Animals has plenty more where that came from. Click here to see all the cool videos that they have posted on their web page, and click after the jump to see the Thriller video in all it's glory!!!

Evolution Of... by Jeff Victor
Jeff Victor is a terrific artists who obviously loves movies. He is trying to figure out a way to portray some of his favorite film characters in an interesting and original light, so he decided to go with a timeline format for some of our favorite actors & actresses. This allows him to draw someone like Tom Hanks in a plethora of characters that he has portrayed over the years. I think this is a cool idea, and shows us just how much a characters roles have varied over the years. You can see a ton of his timeline pieces and other fantastic art that he has to offer by clicking over to his page, or you can continue after the jump and see my faves in his 'Evolution Of...' series...

Artin' It Up - 2012 All Horror Week Edition Vol #1 by Tommy Lomabardozzi
Hello, folks!
Halloween is once again upon us, and that means the annual ALL-HALLOWEEN WEEK over here on C.C.D.! Per tradition, I have created some all-new, EXCLUSIVE artwork for you ghouls and creeps out there to enjoy. Spooky shit for the spookiest time of year! There are six new pieces that will run every weekday from today till Halloween day, so make sure you come back every day for a bit of frightening fun, courtesy of me, just for you C.C.Degenerates!
Let's get started...
Today, the first piece is a homage to one of the greatest music videos ever made, Michael Jackson's THRILLER! Directed by John Landis, this ground breaking long-form music video (a short film, really) encompasses many of the staples of good Halloween fun; the macabre, the undead, an amazing werewolf, and a highly-choreographed dance sequnce!
I give you "THRILLER NIGHT"!
This is done in marker, spray paint, and crayon.
I hope seeing this made you wanna go on Youtube and watch the video!
Come back tomorrow for day two of my 'ARTIN' IT UP' All-Halloween Week edition.

'I'd Buy That...As a Tee!' Vol 23
Always on the look out for inspiring art... emblazoned across the chest of humanity. Here's some of the t-shirts I have my eye on to do just the trick but, there's only one problem....they aren't for sale yet! Please click the links below to the Threadless.com voting pages for each and give these beauties '5' ratings so I can throw 'em on my charge card one day.
***Please click READ MORE below for more terrific tees from Threadless!***
It looks like the smokes cleared in THIS 'Mystery Raid'. Drug Enforcement has finally caught up to the hallucination riddled mystery team. 'Scooby Snacks', indeed!'Zombie Pop White King' has the self-proclaimed 'King of Pop' emblazened across your torso in an image reminiscent of his last days of life.....or is it in his after-life?.....Ah ha Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha. (my best Vincent Price laughter)
Looks like your favorite target has taken matters into his own hands in 'Die Before You Die'. He's #Winning!
'Last Man Standing' is most likely your p.o.v. as a zombie getting blasted by the sheriff made famous by 'The Walking Dead' series. Or are you standing behind the aforementioned zombie looking through him? Either way! Zombie tees are fine with me!
Finally after years of confusing the two....Threadless brings me 'Avatar' Mash-up! Wonder if this one controls ALL the elements?
I'm pretty sure the Stay Puft couple in 'S'more Love' have both taken a bite out of their chocolate and cracker ....than did some french kissing for the final ingredient. Unless the wrong thing popped into my head (kinda like Ray in the 'Ghostbusters' film)
And speaking of making out, looks like our favorite re-animated ghouls aren't far behind the last couple in this tee...'Frankenstein Love'
Last but, not least, this week we bring it back to the mash-up for my favorite of this installment. Nickelodeon's kid-favorite 'Dora the Explorer' in a moment of high jungle action ala 'Tomb Raider's Lara Croft in 'Lara D'Explora'....pewn pewn!
Aight tee-m! Check you next week with an all new batch of Threadless tees. Remember to log on to their site and give high marks to our inspirational designers!

'I'd Buy That...As a Tee!' Vol 10 by Jeff Bond
Summer is just 'round the corner and I could use a few new unique t-shirts to really make a statement without saying a word. A statement like "I'm a geek that doesn't take much of anything seriously...I'm approachable and easily abused."
Here's some of the t-shirts I have my eye on to do just the trick but, there's only one problem....they aren't for sale yet! Please click the links below to the Threadless.com (my favoritest and most user friendly t-shirt contribution site) voting pages for each and give these beauties '5' ratings so I can throw 'em on my charge card one day.
'Only Skin Deep' puts YOU in the body of a half eaten, animated zombie. Deee-lish!
click 'READ MORE' below more more T-tastic tees!
'88 Miles Per Gigawatt' is another fantastic 'Back to the Future' send up. "Doc, we have to go back!" (click the link for full image....some artists don't like me copying and pasting their stuff)
I'm a big fan of people with guns emblazoned across my chest on a tee. 'Gunner' does just that! RAT-A-TATTAT!
Looks like Willy Wonka's Oompa Loompas got in a quick game of 'Oompa Ball' before they attempted to return Violet back to her usual on-purple...un-enbiggoned self. Hey, No Spiking the ball!!
'MJ Italic' brings the King of Pop back to life in a stylish font. EE-Hee-hee!
Bombs away.....Medieval style with 'Goblin Grenades'. Reminds me a little of the cartoon show 'Gargoyles'. I liked 'Gargoyles'!
'Triceraclops' mashes up the 'terrible lizards' of yester-year with one of my favorite Uncanny X-mens...Scott Summers aka.'Cyclops' in one of my faves this week!

I'd Buy That...As a Tee! Volume 5 by Jeff Bond
Spring has sprung and I could use a few new unique t-shirts to really make a statement without saying a word. A statement like "I'm a geek that doesn't take much of anything seriously...I'm approachable and easily abused."
Here's some of the t-shirts I have my eye on to do just the trick but, there's only one problem....they aren't for sale yet! In 'Gorilla For Sale', 'Magilla Gorilla' get's a realistic make over. How much is that Gorilla in the window...may I ask?
'A Robot's Holiday' is a simple mechanical design! Friendly little robot playing with some robot Christmas gifts perhaps? Love it on a yellow Tee!
***Click 'READ MORE' below for more tee-rific tees!***
What's this? What's this?.......'In Memoriam M. Jackson' pays tribute to 2 of my favorite dead guys. Michael Jackson....and Jack Skellington! One hell of a mash-up!
Old timey 'Star Wars' & 'Gremlins' fun with this piece entitles 'A (Very) Long Time Ago'. I must have figure versions of all 3 of these little guys! (Yoda, Wicket, Gizmo)
'No More Licks' will have to be seen after the jump to be believed! Definitely my favoritest of the week. Don't let the illusion photo below betray you! "Mr. Owl, how many licks DOES it take to get to the center of a Tootise Pop? Ummm uh-1...uh-2.....(click...click.....BOOOM!)
'The Pandnisher' sparks fear in the hearts of evil-doers...I guess
'Wild West' features a futuristic law man of future's past. Whether he's a law-enforcer or Law-breaker is anyones guess...but, I like his gunslinging style!
Just in time for Easter, comes this sweet 'Star Wars' spoof, 'Frozen In Chocolate'. Bunny versions of Princess Leia and Chewbacca look on in angst as their fallen hero...the hare version of Han Solo, is displayed in a coma-like state in layers of chocolaty goodness.
'Spider-Pig' inspired, most likely, by the, now infamous, 'Simpsons' movie scene in which Homer has his fun with a little porker pal. "Spider-Pig...Spider-Pig.....does whatever a....Spider....pig......does!"
Finally this week, 'Go Go Gadget Noir' took advantage of Threadless.com's 'Threadless Loves Noir' competition to spotlight the bumbling mechanical detective Inspector Gadget! We'll get you next time T-shirt! Nexxxxxt tiiiiiiiiime!

Monster Serie 2 portrays this plain jane, house frau packin' a mean machine gun.
Imposter imagines what might be hiding under M & M's candy-coated shell.....the candy-coated shell of a Skittles candy!
Steampunk Jessica mashes up two of my faves...the "Steampunk" genre and Roger's main squeeze from 'Who Framed Roger Rabbit'....
**Please click 'READ MORE' below for some more neat Tees**
Deadliest Catch II Imagines Discovery Channel's fisherman with a 'Battleship' sinking load from Milton Bradley's board game!
BlitzKrieg_Cheese click the photo...for one cheese-tastic military mouse
:: elegance :: Steampunk again....enjoying another moment in the spotlight.
Beat It! An homage to MICHAEL.....with 'Jonny Bravo' styled cartoonery.
Natural Transformation might be one of my absolute favorites this week. The metal hulls of the 'Transformers' series reach the metamorphosis of this caterpillar...it cocoons itself and transforms into a destructive moth!
Rat Pac is 'Pac-Man' reimagined as a restauranteur's greatest nightmare!
Tonight's The Night click the photo below to get your 'Dexter' on...one model piece at a time.
Here's some t-shirts from, yet another, kewl t-shirt vendor, 'ADDICT'.
