CCD Presents: Geoff Cain of Black Action Tees Live From the Floor of the 2013 NY Comic Con

One of the coolest things that I purchased the whole time I was at the 2013 NY Comic Con had to be the T-Shirts I picked up over at the Black Action Tees booth. Owner Geoff Cain makes some killer t shirts, and they tend to feature the forgotten and lesser known heroes that happen to be minorities. No Superman or Batman shirts here... there are plenty of booths selling those. Black Action Tees focuses on heroes like Black Lightning, Dragonfly Jones, and Black Dynamite... and I am happy that they do! I grabbed up three shirts, the Mike Tyson, Black Lightning, and Sam Jackson Bad Mofo shirts myself. I also chatted with owner Jeff and discussed just what makes his company stand out among the others in the crowd. DC Comics '75 Years of Superman' Suit Display at the 2013 NY Comic Con

DC Comics marquee character over the last century has been Superman. I love Batman as much as the next guy, but Supes is the main dude over at DC. So in order to honor 75 years of Superman at this years NY Comic Con, DC set up an awesome display of all the costumes that he has worn throughout the history of the beloved character. Now I don't even really like Superman all that much (like I said, I'm a Batman guy..) but this display was very cool to admire. Check out all the detailed pics that Joe Fletch took after the jump. CCD Presents: Ray Arcadio Live From Artists Alley at the 2013 NY Comic Con

On the first day of set up for our booth we were quite early. Joe Fletch, Tommy and I arrived at the Javits and began setting up our booth. There were not that many artists setting up in Artists Alley, but there was one a few rows away that instantly caught our attention. Ray Arcadio had canvas art for sale, and his style jumped out at me because it reminded me of one of my favorite artists, Sam Keith. His faces were not exactly like Keith's drawings, but the mouths reminded me of The Maxx. That was enough to get me over to the table. Once I did, I started chatting up Ray and he was a really cool dude. His work was really fantastic, and once we began talking on camera it became apparent that I was speaking to one of the most down to earth artists at the con. CCD Presents: Sire's Crown Eyewear Live From The 2013 NY Comic Con Floor

As I stroll the 2013 NY Comic Con floor I am always looking for unique things to highlight here on CCD. There are plenty of traditional vendors selling their wares at cons (comics, toys, prints, t shirts, etc), so I am looking for that booth that has something different. I found that at the Sire's Crown booth. The guys from SC were hawking glasses at their booth. But these glasses had some special characteristics. First off, teh frames were carved out of wood. Yup... pretty unique. Not something I have never seen before, but rare nonetheless. Yet it was the other unique characteristic about the frames that made them Comic Con friendly. The frames were overlayed with chopped up prints of 30s,40s and 50s era comic book covers! What a great idea for the comic lover who is forced to wear eyeglasses! I came over to the booth, chatted with one of the owners CJ Thomason, and we conducted a video interview detailing the project and all the other stuff that makes Sire's Crown such a great company. New York Comic Con 2013 - Great Pictures from the Show Floor

The show floor at the 2013 NY Comic Con was epic... all the construction on the Javits Convention Center is done, and the flow of the floor was at an all time high. The new badge system and spreading of the Comic Con event throughout the WHOLE building made the floor much more manageable to navigate. Once again, the displays didn't disappoint and there was a lot to see. All of us amateur photogs affiliated with CCD decided to share our floor pics with you guys that couldn't be there to see what was hot. what we enjoyed and what you missed out on.
