Yeah boy, it is that time again! BBQ Films is gearing up for their next immersive cinematic event, and this time they need YOU to help out with their biggest challenge yet... Are you guys ready to bust some ghosts???

BBQ Films is back with their next great event, a recreation of the famed Ghostbusters Headquarters from the Sony Pictures film franchise! The BBQ crew will be bringing you into the world of Ghostbusters by completely recreating the famed HQ of the team. And the best part is that they are recruiting new members... think you got what it takes to bust some ghosts with the big boys?

This is one of the biggest events BBQ has ever done, and CCD is happy to be a part of the team behind this amazing event. The show will take place at the Villain event space in Williamsburg, Brooklyn over an astounding 4 DAYS!!!! The quest for new Ghostbusters begins on Wednesday June 8th at 7 pm and will continue with 7pm showtimes on Thursday and Friday. On Saturday there will be a special matinee ALL AGES show starting at 1 pm... and a finale Saturday night performance at 7pm! That is 5 different chances for you to come down and join the squad... what do you say? Tickets are available HERE.

• Hi-C Ecto Cooler is back, and Hi-C is an official sponsor of the event. That means all the delicious cocktails and drinks being served will have that neon green drink at their core!
•  A screening of the 1984 classic Sony Film Ghostbusters on a HUGE screen
• Tutorials on ghost capture by paranormal specialists in order to train a new team of Ghostbusters

Ghostbusters.... wow, what really needs to be said about this classic movie? Nothing I can think of saying could even begin to do it justice. On the eve of it's 30th Anniversary and re-release for a short time in theaters, we here at the CCD Podcast decided to throw down a quick .5 episode singing the praises of one the best movies ever made. For 80's babies, like us, it is the pinnacle. So please allow Jedi Rob, Mike D and the lovely Alicia Gomes to  gush a bit about one of the greatest comedies of ALL TIME!!!

Harold Ramis, R.I.P. November 21st 1944 - February 24th 2013 (69 years old)

A little piece of my youth just died. Wow, this sucks. Harold Ramis, 1/4 of the famous Ghostbusters and writer/filmmaker/producer extraordinaire has passed away. He died from complications of a rare disease, autoimmune inflammatory vasculitis. Very rarely do we find someone in the film industry that is SO TALENTED on so many DIFFERENT LEVELS. This is a man responsible for writing classics like Ghostbusters, Stripes, Caddyshack and Animal House. He directed Caddyshack, National Lampoon's Vacation, Analyze This, and Club Paradise (a personal fave of mine). He acted brilliantly in Ghostbusters I & II, Stripes, and late career cameos in films like Orange County & Knocked Up where he always stole the show. He is also responsible for most of the stories that powered the various Ghostbusters cartoons and video games from the last 30 years. The dude was a true triple threat that is quite rare in Hollywood. I honestly hate this part of getting old, its inevitable that the people you looked up to in your favorite forms of entertainment are bound to pass on. It is also more frustrating to lose a dude like this before they could make Ghostbusters III, all for no reason. They could have gotten any budget and done anything they wanted, and with Ramis writing the project I am sure it would have been epic. Thanks for fucking around all these years and wasting time (yes I am talking to you Bill Murray!). Take it light Egon, you were a really talented dude who seemed to be just a regular guy. Enjoy that big ghost trap in the sky!!! I will be posting a few of my favorite Ramis moments after the jump...

Postma Does The Ghostbusters

Once again Canadian artist Phil Postma finds a fresh and unique project to put his own personal design twist on them. This time he takes on iconic movie posters of the eighties and gives them a Ghostbuster theme - perfect for Halloween. And perfect for this years All Horror Week on CCD. Postma never disappoints, but these are on another level. Check them out after the jump...

Spook Central: Yes Mayor, This Documentary Has No Dick....

The title of this post goes out to all my true Ghostbuster fans. But this mockumentary concept is intriguing to say the least. Following the in the vein of Room 237, Spook Central takes a look behind the "real" meaning of certain aspects of what is probably my favorite 80s comedies. I would totally watch the shit outta this... Now I don't know if this is really a full length documentary or just a mock up trailer, but either way I wanted to share it cause it is a really cool concept. Check out the trailer after the jump..

The Popular Face of NY: An Art Exhibit by Raid 71 @ Bottleneck Galleries NYC

Bottleneck Galleries is at it again, and to be honest with you this may be the most fitting show they have done so far. You see, Bottleneck is located right here in my current hometown of Brooklyn, NYC... and, well lets face it, they are one of the only galleries here in NY that are focusing on pop cultured themed art shows. So when I saw that the subject of their most current show from artists Raid 71 (who was featured here on CCD a few months back... yeah buddy!) was 'The Popular Face of NY', I had to smile a bit. What better place to highlight a bunch of NYC themed art then right in the heart of Brooklyn? It is a perfect fit.... and I am loving what I have seen from the previews over at the Bottleneck Blog. They have some excellent step by step photos over their that show how these magnificent pieces come together, so get over there to check out some of the behind the scenes work on how these pieces of art come together. The show premieres tonight at 7:00 pm (I am definitely going tonight!!!) and runs for two weeks until March 29th, so if you live in the area make sure you get out there and support this local gallery in bringing pop culture art to NYC. You can click on the shop page starting March 16th at noon to buy some of the prints if you can't make it out there in person. Ghostbusters: 1900 by Dr. FaustusAU

These pictures of what the Ghostbusters would have looked like if they were fighting ghosts back in 1900 are just wonderful. Artist Dr. FaustusAU absolutely kills the design on these, and you have to love the horse drawn wagon replacing the sleek white Ecto 1. I love the details and just had to post this set up. Gallery 1988 Presents Crazy 4 Cult In NYC... And CCD Was There!!!

The CCD crew decided to venture into Manhattan and check out the Gallery 1988 art show Craxzy 4 Cult for ourselves on its opening night last week. It is a dope show, and my only knock on it was that it was in too small a space. People who were waiting to buy prints and pieces formed a line along one whole side of the gallery and prevented people from seeing that half of the show. But for the pieces that I did get a shot to see... all I can say is wow! There are some great pieces in the show, and I had to bust out the camera on my tablet to take some photos for all of you guys to see for yourself. It was crazy packed and hard to take pics, but I did my best. Not all of these will appear online (some are featured over at gallery 1988's website and many other sites like ours) so this might be the only chance you get to see it. The show runs through September, so try and get down to 64 Ganservoort St. and see the magnificent work for yourself. Check out my pics after the jump...
