Game of Thrones x World Cup Nike Unis by Nerea Palacios

With World Cup fever in full swing now that the USA has advanced to the knockout stage in consecutive tournaments for the 1st time ever, I thought it was only right to share these beautiful soccer uniforms inspired by the Game of Thrones houses. Nerea Palacios created these using Nike ID's features to get the colors right, and then adding some nice touches in details and dope backgrounds to drive the whole project home. These are just fantastic, and I would love to see them on the field. I am sure Daenyrys & the Targareyns would have a slight unfair advantage with 3 dragons on the pitch at once. The Women Of Westeros by Azim Al Ghussein

There is something to reading a book before it is adapted to a TV screen or a movie. Of course there is the age of adage "the book is better than the movie", but I don't usually ascribe to this for the average opinion of it is better. I usually like to read source material first because: 1) it was the way it was originally intended by the original author & 2) I can form an idea on how the characters look in my own head based on the description of the author. I can imagine what their physical stature is, how their faces look reacting to events in the book, and what type of a person they are based on things clothing and action they take. That picture in my head is mine, and mine alone. It is unlike all others... you might have a SIMILAR picture of a character in your head, but it won't be exactly like mine. So it is nice when an artist decides to recreate a group of characters that have appeared in both a book and an adaption... and said artist goes with a book interpretation for the characters looks when they create it. Such is the case with artist Azim Al Ghussein, who has a penchant for drawing A Song of Ice and Fire (the real name of Game of Thrones before HBO) characters. He likes to go in the direction of forming the characters looks based on George RR Martin's descriptions in the books... and it is a nice call back to when I was reading the books and imagining what they would all look like. I was especially enamored by his 'Ladies of Ice and Fire' series, which captures the ladies of the books in all their unique glory. Al Ghussein hits all the right buttons, and his work is great. 'Peter Dinklage' Are The Only Words One Needs For The Best Game of Thrones Theme Song Ever...

Peter Dinklage has made his mark as Tyrion Lannister on Game of Thrones. He has quickly risen up the ranks as one of the greatest characters in the history of television. His short stature only makes his powerful work that much cooler. This cat commands the screen whenever he is on, and the character is so well written and executed that you can't help but love him even when it may call for you to loathe him. Be as it may, I never thought that loving Tyrion so much would lead me to like... no not like, love... a version of the Game of Thrones theme song composed of just utterances of his name. Yup, this is about as awesome as it sounds. Enjoy this on your Game of Thrones Monday....

'Catch The Throne' : A 'Game of Thrones' Inspired Rap Mixtape Sponsored By HBO ? WTF Is This Madness ???

HBO has a bonafide hit on their hands with the television adaption of George R.R. Martin's A Song of Fire & Ice saga. Entering its fourth season, the show is as popular as anything else on TV and is making fantasy fans out of pretty much everyone, old and young... woman or man. Who doesn't love the sex, double crossing, sex, intrigue, sex, dragons, sex, mysteries, sex... I think you are beginning to get the point. The sheer sexiness of the show appeals to everyone, and the excellent cast and magnificent sets probably make the show just as appetizing to the general audience. But HBO wouldn't be a corporation if they didn't try to maximize every possible angle in milking the franchise for everything its worth. They have already split book 3 into two seasons (season 3 was Pt. 1, season 4 will be Pt. 2), which helps buy Martin a bit more time in his endless quest to frustrate fans waiting for Book number 6 to be released. They have also looked for alternate ways to spread the show to newer audiences... whoever they may be, and no matter how insane it may seem. Need proof? HBO has sponsored a hip hop mixtape that is inspired by the events of Game of Thrones. Yup, I can't believe I just typed that myself. A HIP HOP MIXTAPE about a show set in a medieval fictional universe that is occupied by knights and dragons? WTF are we talking about here? Are they really trying that hard to get the Hip Hop community (the ones who don't already watch the show) involved in watching their hit show? I guess so. Seems like a stretch... but with artists like Big Boi (of Outkast fame), Common, Wale, Daddy Yankee involved then I am certainly willing to listen for a little bit. I'm Dreaming Of A Red Christmas: A Christmas Story of Fire & Ice by Anna Marie Jung & Andrew Bridgman

I always like the original comics over at Dorkly, but this might be one of the funniest ones I can remember seeing. George R.R. Martin may very well be the most beloved and hated man by the same people in the world... people adore his books and the HBO show based on it, yet hate him mercilessly for the excessive waiting that he puts people through in between books. People also seem to hate him for the uncanny ability he has to kill of seemingly main characters on a whim. This comic plays on both of those things, with a bit of a Christmas twist. A perfect wrap up of the holidays (see what I did there... holiday/wrap... I'm a genius). 'School of Thrones'- This Is Serious Business Ginger Stark!!!!

I love a good web series. I especially love a good web series that is a clever re-interpretation of a familiar franchise. Enter in 'School of Thrones', a new web series that uses the characters of George R.R. Martin's 'A Song of Ice & Fire' books & HBO's 'Game of Thrones' TV series and re-imagines them as current high school students. Instead of family clans, we have high school cliques. The Stark family always does things vintage (as in the old way), so of course they are the hipsters. The Targaryen's are outcasts, so of course Danaerys would be the artistic new girl. Renly is the homosexual cool kid, and Stannis is the religious zealot nerd loner... and of course the Greyjoy's are the swim team! And the Lannisters, lead by Bieber lookalike Joffrey, are the ruling family of the school. This series has so much potential... after all, Prom is Coming!!!!! I also want to point out just how hot young redhead Sansa is. Wowsers!!!! Death is Coming

Wow. Just wow. It is March, so that means it is almost time for the newest season of Game of Thrones. Ass we enter Season 3 we are promised one major plot point, and that is 'Death is Coming'. As someone who has read the books, this is an aptly pronounced theme for season 3 since every group of characters in the show experience major loss in this round of events. I'm not going to get into spoilers, but lets juts say nobody in the Westeros universe is really above death knocking on their door. HBO had released a teaser trailer about a month ago featuring the three eyed crow and the song The Rains of Castamere, but now we get a proper trailer with 1 minute worth of a sneak peek into the live footage. I'm in. Just a few more weeks ladies and gents... and then the dragons will fly!!!! BTW, Tyrion's scar looks properly awesome.Enjoy the trailer after the jump....

GRR vs JRR: Who's Characters Would Win In A Fight?

George R.R. Martin was a successful fantasy writer up until HBO made his A Song of Ice and Fire series a household name. Then he became uber famous, probably the most sought after author by new readers in the past few years. JRR Tolkien is the benchmark of all fantasy writers, having composed The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings trilogy. Tolkien is legendary, and Martin is well on his way (if he ever finished books 6 & 7!!!) to joining him on top of the pantheon of fantasy writers. So when MTV Geek decided to ask George what he thought about some of his characters facing off with the legends of Tolkien lore, and the results are quite interesting. The video is very funny and any opportunity I get to see Martin wearing that stupid hat and giggling into a camera I eat it up. Jaimie Lannister vs Aragon, Saruman vs Melisandre, Frodo vs Tyrion... the possibilities are endless. Good thing they kept Khal Drogo out of it, cause he would whup every bodies asses! Game of Thrones Meets Marvel vs Capcom... Fight!!!!

My main man Joe Fletch and I shared many hours of our year in college living together playing video games. The one that we played the most was definitely Marvel vs Capcom II. We played that game a hell of a lot... well, actually, that isn't totally true. The majority of the time we spent playing that game involved Joe repeatedly kicking my ass. I never won a round... ever! But he was abnormally good, and it made me a better player. One of my favorite aspects of that game had to be the help you could call in from your teammates. It made who you picked to be on your team really, really important. That brings us to some fantastic Game of Thrones fan art from Dynamaito. He constructed a MvC style fight between Lannister Lions Cersei & Tyrion, but it is their back up that makes the picture so cool. Tyrion has the hard striking Bronn to help him defeat his sister, while Cersei has soft ass Joffrey cowering behind her... a real life version of 'back up'!!! Game of Thrones is at the height of its popularity due to the hit HBO TV series, and people are discovering George R. R. Martin's popular book series even more now. So how could you make it even cooler? Well, if you are artist Titan 413 you can simply Mario-ize it!!!! Check out this awesome map of Westeros done in the style of a Super Mario Brothers 3 map. This is awesome even if you don't know all the little ins and outs of Martin's world, but if you do it is even cooler. I love the land beyond The Wall & The Twins the best. Black & Yellow: The Baratheon Edition

Parody videos are not always good, but when they have a clever concept and are executed effectively they can be epic. This is the case when it comes to Backflip Wilson's 'Black & yellow: The Baratheon Edition'. They take Wiz Khalifa's popular song that gave props to his hometown of Pittsburgh & flip it (see what I did there? Backflip Wilson "flipping" the track? Damn I'm good at this writing stuff!!!!) and use it to rain props down upon one of the more powerful houses in George R.R. Martin's A Song of Ice & Fire series. Brothers Stannis, Renly, and Robert are all representing 'The Stag' hard body on this one, killing it with lines like "No Lions & Dragons... better refill my flagon". Game of Thrones is heavy on sex and nudity... that is not necessarily a surprise to anyone who watches the show. But I really had no idea how much nudity occurred until I saw this crazy supercut video from the Huffington Post.
