Game of Thrones x World Cup Nike Unis by Nerea Palacios

With World Cup fever in full swing now that the USA has advanced to the knockout stage in consecutive tournaments for the 1st time ever, I thought it was only right to share these beautiful soccer uniforms inspired by the Game of Thrones houses. Nerea Palacios created these using Nike ID's features to get the colors right, and then adding some nice touches in details and dope backgrounds to drive the whole project home. These are just fantastic, and I would love to see them on the field. I am sure Daenyrys & the Targareyns would have a slight unfair advantage with 3 dragons on the pitch at once. The Women Of Westeros by Azim Al Ghussein

There is something to reading a book before it is adapted to a TV screen or a movie. Of course there is the age of adage "the book is better than the movie", but I don't usually ascribe to this for the average opinion of it is better. I usually like to read source material first because: 1) it was the way it was originally intended by the original author & 2) I can form an idea on how the characters look in my own head based on the description of the author. I can imagine what their physical stature is, how their faces look reacting to events in the book, and what type of a person they are based on things clothing and action they take. That picture in my head is mine, and mine alone. It is unlike all others... you might have a SIMILAR picture of a character in your head, but it won't be exactly like mine. So it is nice when an artist decides to recreate a group of characters that have appeared in both a book and an adaption... and said artist goes with a book interpretation for the characters looks when they create it. Such is the case with artist Azim Al Ghussein, who has a penchant for drawing A Song of Ice and Fire (the real name of Game of Thrones before HBO) characters. He likes to go in the direction of forming the characters looks based on George RR Martin's descriptions in the books... and it is a nice call back to when I was reading the books and imagining what they would all look like. I was especially enamored by his 'Ladies of Ice and Fire' series, which captures the ladies of the books in all their unique glory. Al Ghussein hits all the right buttons, and his work is great. Natalie Dormer Shaved Her Head... And Looks Even Hotter Now Than EVER!!!

Natalie Dormer is a piece. That is not debatable. The chick is a hottie, and has been since the minute she appeared on The Tudors. As Anne Boleyn she was sexy, smart and a very good actress. And she has been piecing together a pretty solid career since. But she is on the precipices of greatness due to her current roles as Margarie Tyrell on Game of Thrones, as well as her upcoming role of Cressida in part 3 of the Hunger Games, Mockingjay. On Game of Thrones she is important, but her role in the Hunger Games is huge... and she is making sacrifices for it. One of those sacrifices was shaving her beautiful locks... or at least half if them off for the role. She is rocking the look expertly, and boy oh boy does she look good doing it. 'Catch The Throne' : A 'Game of Thrones' Inspired Rap Mixtape Sponsored By HBO ? WTF Is This Madness ???

HBO has a bonafide hit on their hands with the television adaption of George R.R. Martin's A Song of Fire & Ice saga. Entering its fourth season, the show is as popular as anything else on TV and is making fantasy fans out of pretty much everyone, old and young... woman or man. Who doesn't love the sex, double crossing, sex, intrigue, sex, dragons, sex, mysteries, sex... I think you are beginning to get the point. The sheer sexiness of the show appeals to everyone, and the excellent cast and magnificent sets probably make the show just as appetizing to the general audience. But HBO wouldn't be a corporation if they didn't try to maximize every possible angle in milking the franchise for everything its worth. They have already split book 3 into two seasons (season 3 was Pt. 1, season 4 will be Pt. 2), which helps buy Martin a bit more time in his endless quest to frustrate fans waiting for Book number 6 to be released. They have also looked for alternate ways to spread the show to newer audiences... whoever they may be, and no matter how insane it may seem. Need proof? HBO has sponsored a hip hop mixtape that is inspired by the events of Game of Thrones. Yup, I can't believe I just typed that myself. A HIP HOP MIXTAPE about a show set in a medieval fictional universe that is occupied by knights and dragons? WTF are we talking about here? Are they really trying that hard to get the Hip Hop community (the ones who don't already watch the show) involved in watching their hit show? I guess so. Seems like a stretch... but with artists like Big Boi (of Outkast fame), Common, Wale, Daddy Yankee involved then I am certainly willing to listen for a little bit. 'Game of Thrones' Cabaret Posters by Fernando Reza

The buzz for season four of Game of Thrones is starting to mount as we get within the two month mark of the shows premiere. That means more and more online tie ins are going to start popping up, and this post highlights one of them. My Reddit vigilante Joe Fletch discovered these awesome cabaret style posters featuring GOT items... yup, not the same characters that we have seen a bunch and instead a spotlight featuring certain items that have played a huge part in the characters lives. Wildfire, Milk of the Poppy, and Valaryian Steel all get their own ads from Fernando Reza, and they are glorious. These kinds of posters get me even more hype or the show, which returns to the air waves on April 6th, 2014. Anyone can do fan art based on popular properties, but how do you make yours unique and stand out among everyone else? Re-imagining them in the style of Japanese Feudal paintings might do the trick! That is exactly what artist Seiji did when he took key moments from Game of Thrones season 3 and turned them into these dope ass paintings. Fantastic. These are so great. I'm Dreaming Of A Red Christmas: A Christmas Story of Fire & Ice by Anna Marie Jung & Andrew Bridgman

I always like the original comics over at Dorkly, but this might be one of the funniest ones I can remember seeing. George R.R. Martin may very well be the most beloved and hated man by the same people in the world... people adore his books and the HBO show based on it, yet hate him mercilessly for the excessive waiting that he puts people through in between books. People also seem to hate him for the uncanny ability he has to kill of seemingly main characters on a whim. This comic plays on both of those things, with a bit of a Christmas twist. A perfect wrap up of the holidays (see what I did there... holiday/wrap... I'm a genius). The North Remembers... And Now You Can Remember Too!!!!

With Season 3 coming to an epic ending this week over on HBO (how can they have made the Red Wedding even more brutal than the books... holy shit!) I am very eager to finally get to Book # 5 in the series, Dance With Dragons. I also feel like George R R Martin is also under pressure to get the long await Book # 6 out... finally. But the thing I love about this series getting so popular has to be some of the cool ass fan art that is invading the interwebs since it has gained so much popularity. Take these really cool House Sigil pictures that were posted over at Unreality. These are all a bit similar (why do they all have dragons in them? That doesn't make much sense.) but they are all really cool looking. I especially like the way the helmets are used. Pretty good stuff.
