Bill Murray x Modok by David Branstetter

David Branstetter is just like any other independent graphic artist that wants to break into the comic world. Check that... most guys that are trying to break into comics want to be down with the kings: Marvel, DC, Image, etc. But from reading Branstetter's blog it is apparent that this isn't his goal at all... he wants to get his own work, Straw Man, and other original ideas out there for people to see. His Straw Man strip is pretty great, and you can see much more of it by clicking here. He is also contributing to Comic Book Resources 'The Line Is Drawn' weekly art round up, which always produces some great stuff. But when I came across his Deviant Art page (click here to see his stuff, its amazing!) I found this killer mash up piece that tickled me inside, because it is completely off kilter yet works so well after it was executed. 'Game of Thrones' Cabaret Posters by Fernando Reza

The buzz for season four of Game of Thrones is starting to mount as we get within the two month mark of the shows premiere. That means more and more online tie ins are going to start popping up, and this post highlights one of them. My Reddit vigilante Joe Fletch discovered these awesome cabaret style posters featuring GOT items... yup, not the same characters that we have seen a bunch and instead a spotlight featuring certain items that have played a huge part in the characters lives. Wildfire, Milk of the Poppy, and Valaryian Steel all get their own ads from Fernando Reza, and they are glorious. These kinds of posters get me even more hype or the show, which returns to the air waves on April 6th, 2014. My Parents Were Cool, But Not This Cool...

I had great parents that encouraged all of my idiosyncrasies and afforded me great things (like comics & toys) throughout my childhood. They allowed me to do what I wanted with my room, and I often decorated it with the things I loved (mostly comics & toys.. lol). But Joe Fletch sent me a Reddit thread that blows doors on anything I ever had as a kid... and it comes courtesy of a great dad that should be commended for being so creative. This dude turned his son's bedroom into Avengers Central, with all four corners of the room embodying each of the Big 4. They all have a corner, and each is cooler than the other. The Cap corner has his signature shield, Thor's corner has Mjolinir, Hulk's corner has his terrifying scowl, and Iron Man has his signature helmet. There is also a Stark Industry bookshelf, a hidden Ultron visage, a Iron Man suit breaking through the wall, and so much more.... really great! Parents need to pay attention, this is how you do it! Anyone can do fan art based on popular properties, but how do you make yours unique and stand out among everyone else? Re-imagining them in the style of Japanese Feudal paintings might do the trick! That is exactly what artist Seiji did when he took key moments from Game of Thrones season 3 and turned them into these dope ass paintings. Fantastic. These are so great. Carnage Transformation Cosplay To Make Your Skin Crawl....

Carnage and Venom are easy targets for Cosplayers because they involve full body transformations and you can pull them off with latex. That also makes the characters a typical target of chicks because they can make the "nude covered in latex" gig sexy as shit. This photo set doesn't disappoint. Another great Reddit find, I am not sure who the actual cosplayer is ( I would love to give the person proper credit), but here is the original photo set and also the link that was posted on Reddit. Very well done, although I wish there was a good front face shot. "Hulky The Pooh Doesn't Know What To Do.." - Marvel Characters In The Vein of Winnie the Pooh by CP Wilson III

Reddit is a treasure trove. A literal treasure trove of cool things to post. Take these extraordinary original pieces from artist CP Wilson III. He decided to channel E.H. Shepard's style of art that made Winnie the Pooh a household recognized character and use it to bring certain Marvel characters to life. He has the Hulk playing the role of Pooh, and the rest of the Marvel catalog as supporting Pooh characters. I love the way he taps into some of the more obscure Marvel story lines (Planet Hulk, Future Imperfect, etc) and delivers some great renditions. What a great mash up. Wilson III is currently the illustrator of Wraith for IDW, and his traditional works are pretty spectacular as well. But these are a great side project for him, and he is on to something. The Walking Dead Mid-Season Finale & It's Comic Counterparts... In GIF Form!

Ahhh... the magic of the Internet! What a great tool, especially for people who like to dot their I's and cross their T's as much as I do! Having read The Walking Dead comics and being an avid fan of the TV show I love the little differences and substitutions between the two. Things that happen to certain characters are swapped, story lines are co-mingled, and the overall narrative tends to blur from time to time.... but no matter what, the gist of the original story is conveyed and the show always circles back to the books origins. I am always interested to see when and where the writers on the show will come back to the original narrative when they deviate... especially since the creator/writer Robert Kirkman is so closely associated with the shows journey. Thanks to the good old folks at Reddit (and its original source location), we can give people who didn't read the original books a glimpse at where the original ideas for some key moments in this seasons mid-season finale started out from.
