Nike Killed It With Their "Risk Everything' Ad Campaign Featuring Some Of The Best World Cup Players...

Nike is a huge sponsor of this years World Cup, and they are a huge player in the international soccer market. The only major player they do not have on their roster is Messi (albeit he is the best), but Nike is busting out all of its stars for its latest ad campaign entitled 'Risk Everything'. There are three films in all, and they are all pretty cool. 'Risk Everything' features Neymar of Brazil, Reynaldo of Portugal and Rooney of England as they undergo their World Cup journeys. 'Winner Stays' is a cool one in which kids play a pick up game of soccer at the park in which the winner stays on the pitch. The kids transform into all of the worlds greats, and they highlight typical moves from these guys. 'The Last Game' is animated and shows us a fictional future where soccer players are ruled out by Clones, who replace players who are human and therefore take risks. The clones become the stars of soccer, and the 'Originals" are sent packing... no longer the stars they once where. But the 'Originals', lead by the older Brazilian legend Ronaldo, come back strong for one last game. Ibrahimovic, Christiano Ronaldo, Iniesta, Brazilians Neymar & Luis, Rooney and Tim Howard lead the charge against The Clones... will they win? A great marketing campaign for Nike in this World Cup year. Catch all three videos after the jump...

'Snowpiercer' May Be The International Movie To See This Summer...

Ho-ly SHIT! I just saw the trailer for Snowpiercer, the South Korean import film from Bong Joon-ho (director of The Host & Mother, both insanely great flicks) that marks his English speaking film debut. The film is an adaption of a graphic novel La Transperceneige, a French comic by Jacques Lob. The film focuses on a dystopian future in which mankind has forced a new Ice Age while trying to cure global warming. The only surviving folks, rich and poor, live on a train called 'Snowpiercer'. The train has a perpetual motion engine and travels along a world spanning track. The rich people live in the front of the train, and as you get to the rear of the train you travel down in class. At the rear of the train is the poorest of the poor, the ones who keep the train functioning. Lead by a rebel named Curtis (Chris Evans) they begin to travel car to car towards the front, overthrowing the guards and taking control of the train. Bloody car after bloody car, the class system that has been set begins to crumble and a true power struggle ensues. Who will control the train, rich or poor? Whoever comes out on top controls the only environment that is fit for life... wow, what a great concept that looks even more bad ass on screen. The futuristic, yet primal conditions on the train (who fights with axes in 2031???) make this movie even crazier! The film also stars Jaime Bell, Tilda Swinton, John Hurt, Ed Harris & Alison Pill. Snowpiercer receives its US release June 27th, and will gain a wider release if the market dictates. They got my money for sure... how about you? Check the trailer out after the jump...

Proof That There Is A God: Olga Kurylenko Edition

I have been finally catching up on Starz epic 1950s drama Magic City. Boy, what a great show. And one of the best parts of the show, at least on the eyes, has to be Olga Kurylenko. Olga is a vet at making us swoon, ever since she graced the silver screen as a Bond girl in Quantum of Solace. But she takes it to the next level as Vera Evans, wife to the big boss of the Miramar Playa hotel Ike Evans. She smolders every time she is on camera, and I just wanted to give God a big thumbs up on this Russkie. Bravo sir, BRAVO... check the pics out after the jump!!!

Game of Thrones x World Cup Nike Unis by Nerea Palacios

With World Cup fever in full swing now that the USA has advanced to the knockout stage in consecutive tournaments for the 1st time ever, I thought it was only right to share these beautiful soccer uniforms inspired by the Game of Thrones houses. Nerea Palacios created these using Nike ID's features to get the colors right, and then adding some nice touches in details and dope backgrounds to drive the whole project home. These are just fantastic, and I would love to see them on the field. I am sure Daenyrys & the Targareyns would have a slight unfair advantage with 3 dragons on the pitch at once. Check out all the kits after the jump...

The First Look At 'Mad Max: Fury Road' Courtesy Of Entertainment Weekly....

Mad Max: Fury Road has been a long time coming. Long delayed, the film is finally getting a spring 2015 release. Given how long the film has been in production, it is a relief to see that it finally coming to fruition. The reboot of the 80s franchise that launched Mel Gibson's career is staring Tom Hardy & Charlize Theron, and one can only hope that it lives up to expectations. Entertainment Weekly is previewing the movie in an upcoming issue and the cover gives us our first look at Hardy & Theron in full costume. Hardy is certainly channeling the vintage Max look, and Theron is sporting a shaved head and a robot arm. I'm interested... check out the full cover after the jump....

Guardians of a Galaxy Far, Far Away by The Bloody Samoan

Mash ups make the Internet go round. And one that seems to be getting the most spins right now is the Guardians of the Galaxy/Star Wars variety. We have seen posters, trailer mash ups, and pictures of these two properties mixed up. But this one from a Deviant Artist called The Bloody Samoan has to be one of my faves. He takes the 5 Guardians and pits them with their most obvious Star Wars counterparts. Star Lord & Darth Vader? Gamorra & Leia? CHEWBACCA & DRAX!!! Rocket & Wicket is the most obvious, and also one of the best. But I thought it was real creative to go Groot & R2-D2 considering the non verbalness of both characters and using R2s body as a flower pot. Very cool mash up... this guy has a ton of other cool pieces over on his page (click here to see). Enjoy it after the jump....

Can 'Tyrant' Be FX's Next Big Hit & Provide A Solid Summer Show For Fans At The Same Time?

I am always on the look out for new shows to watch, but especially at this time of year. The summer is often suffers from a glut of original programming, and in years previous was always the place to show re-runs and dump shows that the networks don't think can make it in the Fall. However, attitudes have changed with the cable success of shows like True Blood (one of HBO's best regarded) and network shows like Under The Dome (huge ratings for CBS last summer, returning next week!). Now all networks are not only scrambling to come up with original shows for the summer... they are going BIG on the shows they are putting out. Tyrant is one of FX's entries for this summer (they also have The Strain from Guillermo del Torro, which I am looking forward to as well) and it promises to be big on drama and budget. The Middle East set show focuses on a family of significant power in that area of the world and the struggles that come with that power. It has the feel of The Godfather to it, and FX is sparing no expense, filming the show on location in Moracco to get the authentic feel for the area of the world they are portraying. It also comes from the executive producers of Homeland, which have been doing a hell of a job over at Showtime. All in all, I am intrigued. The first show is tonight (Tuesday) at 10 pm... tune in. The Tyrant on FX Youtube page has a bunch of 30 second trailers, which you can watch by clicking here. You can see two very informative teaser clips, one about the show and one about the location shooting, after the jump embedded. I think this might be a good one... we shall see!!!

'Star Wars' Gets The 'Guardian of the Galaxy' Trailer Treatment... And It Is AMAZING!

Even though Star Wars came out way back in 1977, it is still the movie of choice of most self respecting Sci Fi geeks in the world. So it is no surprise when Star Wars pops up in mash ups with current properties. But the latest instance that I saw was just to great not to share. The Unusual Suspects took the most recent Guardians of the Galaxy trailer and mashed it up with footage from the old Star Wars films, and boy are the results a ton of fun to watch! This trailer mash up captures the fun and comical essence of the Star Wars films and also highlight the superb Sci Fi style that was present in the Star Wars franchise. This makes me want to watch the original trilogy over again. Watch both the Guardians and Star Wars mashed up trailer after the jump for comparisons...

The Killing Joke Brought Back To Life By Mr. Misiano

The Killing Joke is one of the most iconic comics ever to come to fruition. I hate Alan Moore as a person, but I so love him as a writer. Artist Brian Bolland draws the characters in a very unique way... especially The Joker, who is the centerpiece of the book. He has never looked as normal and as maniacal as he did in that book. In one frame he looks as normal as a white face painted clown could, wearing silly clothes (the Hawaiian shirt scene) and looking normal. Then there are the iconic images of him looking crazier then ever (think the Hahahahaha background) and him doing wacked out shit like shooting poor Barbara Gordon. Bolland really toes the line between sanity and insanity when it comes to the Joker in this book, and that is what makes it such an iconic work for that character. Enter Joker cosplayer Mr. Misiano, who brings the Joker to life in a way that I have never seen duplicated. He has many poses and scenes for sale on his site, but his two best have to be from The Killing Joke. He re-creates both the cover and the HaHaHa scene masterfully. They are so close to the originals it is scary. It makes you really appreciate a good... no, GREAT cosplayer. Check out both with the comparison photos after the jump...

X-Men: Days of Future Past Featuring The 70s Biggest Movie Stars by Peter Stults

I have features some of Peter Stults works here on CCD before, and whenever I see one of his new pieces posted online I am instantly reminded of my good friend Sean Hartter's works. We lost Sean way to soon (RIP brother) but the truth of the matter is that his style of wok lives on in guys like Stults's work. Stults channels that 'Alternate Reality' universe that Hartter perfected by subbing in crazy casting choices for movies of today featuring the stars of yesteryear. Can you imagine a X-Men: Days of Future Past featuring the 70s biggest and brightest? How about Al Pacino as Wolverine, or Julie Christie as Mystique? What about Terrance Stamp/ Lawrence Olivier as Old/Young Magneto, and Anthony Hopkins/John Gieguld as Old/Young Xavier? And Jim Kelly... Black Belt Jones himself... as BISHOP? That is a cameo I can get behind. Check out the full poster after the jump...
