The CCD Podcast: Episode #74.5 - Army of Darkness & Ash vs The Evil Dead Screening at Videology Bar & Cafe on 10/29/15

Last night we attended an awesome live event at Videology Bar & Cafe in Williamsburg, Brooklyn that tied in perfectly with our recent CCD vs The Evil Dead Retrospective episodes of the podcast. Videology teamed up with Den of Geek US to host a double feature screening of the third installment of the Evil Dead franchise 'Army of Darkness' and the very 1st episode of the new Starz TV show 'Ash vs. The Evil Dead'. To say that our minds were blown at the announcement of such an event would be the understatement of the century... So we treked into Williamsburg to see just how great this event could be. The results: GROOOOOOOVVVVYYYYY!!!! 

While we were at the bar we recorded a bunch of interviews with staff members, patrons of the show, and we even had a chance to sit down AFTERWARDS an discuss the night with the Editor-In-Chief of Den of Geek US himself, Mr. Michael Cecchini. Overall, a great night. Give this bonus episode a listen and it will feel as if you were right there with us!

Proof That There Is A God: Olga Kurylenko Edition

I have been finally catching up on Starz epic 1950s drama Magic City. Boy, what a great show. And one of the best parts of the show, at least on the eyes, has to be Olga Kurylenko. Olga is a vet at making us swoon, ever since she graced the silver screen as a Bond girl in Quantum of Solace. But she takes it to the next level as Vera Evans, wife to the big boss of the Miramar Playa hotel Ike Evans. She smolders every time she is on camera, and I just wanted to give God a big thumbs up on this Russkie. Bravo sir, BRAVO... check the pics out after the jump!!!

Farewell Spartacus...

Andy Whitfield made a huge impression on me from the very first episode of Spartacus that I ever watched on Starz. He had that "it" factor that certain actors/actresses just possess, and he lit up the screen with swagger as the Thracian slave turned warrior hero. Over the weekend he succumbed to his two year long battle with cancer and died at age 39. R.I.P. Andy... thanks for all the blood-soaked memories!!!

Guess Whose Back???

In this past weeks Entertainment Weekly, Starz unveiled their new Spartacus. Actor Liam McIntyre is taking over for the cancer afflicted (and utterly awesome... get well soon brother!) Andy Whitfield, and he is displaying his Thracian might in all its glory. Spartacus: Vengeance is all set to air in January 2012 and I for one can' t wait to see where this show can possibly go next. It may be the most violent and sexual show to ever air on TV, and it all looks so magical. I loved both season 1 (Blood In The Sand) and the prequel miniseries (Gods of the Arena), and if you haven't seen them you should get over to Netflix Instant Streaming and make it happen ASAP.
