80's Monster Claymation by Trent Shy
I have been missing my main man Johnny's website Freddy In Space since he has taken the blog off the Net, but am really happy for him considering that he has become a full time writer for bigger horror sites like Fear Net and the like... it is kind of bittersweet. But I do think it is pretty dope that he is writing for the big fellas... and I try to check in on the gems he is dropping as often as I can. One of those gems came in the form of an excellent video that he put up this week from Trent Shy. It is a claymation video that highlights some of the greatest moments in horror movies from the 80s, which in my opinion is the greatest decade of horror movies ever! There are some really great depictions in the clip, my favorite probably being Belial from Basket Case. What a forgotten classic... great find Johnny! Follow more of the great stuff Johnny is doing all over the 'net by checking in on his Facebook page, and check out the video after the jump....

Vice and 'The Conjuring' Production Team Present: The 3:07 Project
There are so many cool things out there on the interwebs that sometimes things just go unnoticed by you no matter how interested you may be in the subject matter. I am a huge fan of horror films and love to follow my buddy John Squires on all of the various horror sites he writes for (Fearnet, Kumbaya, and especially his blog Freddy In Space!). But Johnny does so much blogging that sometimes things fall through the cracks. The 3:07 Project is one of those cases. The gang over at Vice teamed up with the productions team of this summers major horror hit film The Conjuring to come up with a short film series from some up and coming directors that focus around 3:07 AM... the Devil's Hour. For those of you who have seen The Conjuring you know that this time plays a prominent role in the story, as this is the time when supernatural and spiritual behavior is at its height. They didn't play no games, tapping four very talented directors to take on this subject matter. Nacho Vigalando (Time Crimes), Ti West (House of the Devil), Max Landis (son of John Landis, screenwriter of Chronicle), and Jason Eisner (Hobo with a Shotgun) all have their own short entry... and you can catch all four of them in one short 7 minute video after the jump. Let the creepiness role... I can't think of a better way to spend 7 minutes today, can you? Check it out after the jump...

Electric Zombie Takes On The WWF/E In Honor Of Wrestlemania
My boy Johnny over at Freddy In Space keeps me in the loop about all things horror, especially when it comes to cool ass horror themed merchandise. But I am most upset with myself for overlooking the fact that my man Johnny was at Wrestlemania 29 this weekend and we didn't meet up!!! I am trying to get all my pics in order to make a Wrestlemania 29 post for CCD (hopefully by next Monday), but on my most recent trip over to Freddy In Space Johnny shared some awesome WWF/E wrestling themed t-shirts and posters from Electric Zombie. Now even though most of their merch deals with horror, the guys at EZ obviously love their old school wrasslin' and dig deep to come up with some horrorific versions of familiar wrestlers and events throughout the years. I love the Royal rumble poster, and the Brett Hart shirt is super boss. All in all, a cool ass line that coincides with a great event. Get over to Electric Zombie right now and order you faves, as well as much more horror merchandise that they have to offer. Check out my faves after the jump...

A Blast From The Past: Clive Barker's Nightbreed - Does It Hold Up?
I was over at my favorite horror blog, Freddy In Space, catching up with my man Johnny's musings when I came a cross a post for a long lost intro video that Clive Barker made for the VHS edition of Nightbreed. This particular article jumped out at me for two reasons: 1) Nightbreed is one of my favorite childhood movies and I must have seen it 1,000 times between the age of 11 & 15 in the good ole days of VHS rentals from the Mom & Pop video shop... and have not seen it again since! 2) I am in utter shock & awe that Johnny, Mr. Horror Blogger Extraordinaire, has NOT SEEN THIS HORROR CLASSIC!!! Both of these are travesties that I hope are remedied shortly. I am hoping that somebody (ANYBODY) picks me up the Nightbreed DVD on Amazon for 13.99 that I have put on my Christmas List, and I have made a personal plea for Johnny to watch the movie and join the cult of Midian. Lets hope both get done before Christmas. But since I have not seen the film in at least 15 years and I think I will be acquiring it soon, I will have to re-watch it and see if it holds up...
Click for more after the jump...
For those of you who do not know what Nightbreed is all about, here is what all the fuss is all about (click here for the Wikipedia page) . The film came out in 1990 , was directed by Clive Barker, and is an adaption of his book Cabal. It features Craig Schafer & David Cronenberg and is a very cool monster/slasher movie hybrid. Barker is not one of the greatest film directors of all time, but he is certainly one of the best horror authors of all time... and Cabal is one of his best short stories. The monsters of the lost city of Midian are not really well described in the story, so it is super cool to see what director Barker decided they looked like once it was time for him to film the movie. And I love Cronenberg when he steps in front of the camera, cause he is super fucking creepy.

| Creepy mask Cronenberg... well done! |
Check back shortly after I get the DVD and re-watch the flick to see if it holds up to what I remember it to be. Also, check out the Occupy Meridian homepage. This is the main page for the newly finished Nightbreed: The Cabal Cut version of the film... which is an extended cut of the movie that features almost one hour of cut footage in it and gives a much better idea of what Barker intended for his adaption. It screens all around the world (upcoming screenings in France & England) and at various horror conventions around the country. I hope that one day I can view this awesome version of the film myself. Extended cut blu ray anyone?????

Freddy In Space & Frank Browning Bring The Silver Shamrocks Halloween III Mask's To Life... For You To Make Jack-O-Lanterns Out Of!!!!
My main man Johnny runs a killer horror blog entitled Freddy In Space... you might have heard me talk about it a few times (wink wink) here on CCD. Anywho, the reason why Johnny's site is so boss is because he realizes that he is a smaller blog and he can never compete with a bigger blog that has cooperate sponsorship. He isn't getting invited to film sets or uncovering hidden stories. So what he tries to do is create as much original content as possible .. and due to the fact that he is an awesome dude, he makes quite a few friends along the way who help him do just that. One of these friends of his is Frank Browning, and they have collabed on some very creative things. But this newest collaboration certainly reaches all new heights. Frank has re-created the Silver Shamrock masks from Halloween III... you know, the ones that make the worms & snales come out of the faces of the kids in the movie! Yup that is the Pumpkin Head, Witch and Skeleton that lovers of the classic schlock movie know & love!!!! You can check them out after the jump, and even find a link so that you can download them in a full size to print out and make your own Jack-O-Lanterns out of. Check em out after the jump...
Here are the three of them:

This is how the prints look when applied to a pumpkin:
After they are applied, carve away... and then send results to both me at mdevito730@gmail.com and Johnny at mortis45@aol.com so we can post the results!!!!

Breakfast Cereal Monsters by Lee Howard
While I consider myself to be a huge fan of the horror genre, I will gladly differ to my main man Johnny Boots from over at Freddy In Space when it comes to discovering horror related cool shit on the Internet. The guy just has a great knack for this sort of stuff, and he is always featuring cool things and running giveaways on his awesome blog. One of the most recent finds of his is a series of drawings called "Breakfast Cereal Monsters" by artist Lee Howard, which features some of our most beloved breakfast cereal iconic logos turned into horrifying monsters. I know Tony the Tiger or the Monster Cereal (Count Chocula, Frankenberry, and Boo Berry) guys are easy to imagine as monsters... but the Rice Krispie elves? Toucan Sam? The Trix Rabbit? Wow... wow!!! Johnny is currently running a giveaway for one of the prints on his blog that simply requires you to leave a simple comment. Get over there and try to win one. Check out my faves from the series after the jump...

Custom Action Figures Courtesy Of Popsfartberger
I was over at my boy Johnny's awesome horror site Freddy In Space when I came across some unreal custom action figures that he discovered on Ebay. The name of the seller is Popsfartberger... and to be honest I don't know what is cooler, the fact that his custom action figures are unreal or that his only name listed is Popsfartberger!!! Anywho, the actual custom figures are insane and feature some of the dopest movie characters of all time. Even though they can be kind of expensive (they average around 49.00 bucks) when you take into consideration that you are getting a custom 3 3/4 inch action figure as well as a spectacularly designed front and back backing card.... well, the money/cost starts to make a ton of sense. he has a ton of figures on his Ebay page (click here to see his wares) and they feature a Buy It Now price so you won't have to worry about haggling with other auction users. This is a great gift for any real fan of these films, so keep them in mind for future gift purchases. I featured the ones I liked the best personally after the jump...

Even Bad Guys Have To Get Old....
As a big horror fan I am constantly looking for websites that focus on the genre to read. I was always a fan of Bloody Disgusting, but they have gotten a bit corporate and big for their britches. A few years back I stumbled upon Freddy In Space, a cool blog run by a guy named Johnny. There was just something about the blog and the way he ran it that remind me alot of what we are trying to do here at CCD.... just talk about stuff we love and maybe score some free shit from companies for reviewing their stuff. Then I found out that Johnny was a fellow NYer and that was enough for me. We have become friends through meet ups at Comic Con and sharing memorabilia, and I am still a very big fan of his blog. Go check it out!!! Anyway, Johnny featured photographer Fredrico Chisea works in which Chisea shows us what it will be like when the villains we love grow old. THese guys may not seem like much of a threat anymore, but I bet they still go a bit of bad ass left in em. Check out the photo series after the jump...

My Man Johnny Comes Through Once Again!!!
One of the cooler aspects of running this blog is that you begin to develop relationships with others who have similar interests as you. This is especially true of my fellow bloggers. My boy Cal at the Cave of Cool, Dave over at Exophrine, and Jeremy over at Popped Culture have made me feel great about the work I am doing here at CCD and motivate me through running their own awesome blogs as well (please check these guys out... you will love them!). But my closest friendship that I have developed so far has to be my boy Johnny Boots from the horror blog Freddy In Space. My boy is one of the most knowledgeable horror enthusiasts out there on the web, and I always get a kick out of reading his site.
Johnny and I began exchanging packages and memorabilia last year, and we often blow each others minds with the contents of packages that we send each other. I scored major points with Johnny by getting him a personalized autographed poster by scream queen Danielle Harris, and I also wowed him with a variant Freddy Kreuger toy that was in upside down packaging. He amazed me by providing me an etching of a Clint Howard/Ice Cream Man carving that was made for him. Yeah... we are both geeks! Anyway, I got another package from my boy this week and he has outdone himself yet again!
This package came with two items, one better then the next. The first was a box of 'Cereal Killer' cereal by Wax Eye. The particular brand was a play on the yellow boxes of Corn Pops/Honey Combs, entitled 'Eye Pops/Honey Chrome'. Very cool product... click the above link to see all the different boxes Wax Eye has to offer. The next thing was even cooler. It was a handmade voodoo-type doll in the form of zombie master George A. Romero!!! Artist Bob Dix created these dolls from scratch, hand painting each so that they are all unique in some way. Johnny sells these and many other cooky items in his Freddy in Space Online Store, but I got mine for nothing!!! Thanks Johnny. I got a package heading your way soon!!!!

Finally, a Freddy vs. Jason vs. Ash Movie!!! Let The Rejoicing Begin!!!
I came across the extremely well done fan film by Trent Duncan. My brother from another mother Johnny over at Freddy In Space (the best horror blog on the planet!!!) posted this film, and I have to say I was in shock by how well done it was. I have always dreamed of seeing this in live action, as the comic version of this Horror Movie Icon Battle Royale was great... but merely an appetizer. You can order the film on DVD by clicking on Trent Duncan's website. If you are a fan of these horror films, this is definitely gonna be the best 13 and a half minutes you spend all week. Enjoy....
