The Short Film 'Meat' Delves Into The Topic: What Would You Do If You Hit An Animal On the Side Of The Road?
I love to peruse the Internet and find cool short films being made. In this era of cheap cameras and ambitious people trying to make the "next great short" we are gifted with a plethora of videos to watch. But the best place for horror themed shorts is over on FearNet. They post an awesome amount of shorts over there, and if they are chosen to be featured on FearNet then they must be pretty good to begin with. My most recent discovery is "Meat", which is a conversation between two buddies who just happened to accidentally kill an animal with their truck. The resulting film is both funny, creepy and a bit out there... perfect. Check it out after the jump...

80's Monster Claymation by Trent Shy
I have been missing my main man Johnny's website Freddy In Space since he has taken the blog off the Net, but am really happy for him considering that he has become a full time writer for bigger horror sites like Fear Net and the like... it is kind of bittersweet. But I do think it is pretty dope that he is writing for the big fellas... and I try to check in on the gems he is dropping as often as I can. One of those gems came in the form of an excellent video that he put up this week from Trent Shy. It is a claymation video that highlights some of the greatest moments in horror movies from the 80s, which in my opinion is the greatest decade of horror movies ever! There are some really great depictions in the clip, my favorite probably being Belial from Basket Case. What a forgotten classic... great find Johnny! Follow more of the great stuff Johnny is doing all over the 'net by checking in on his Facebook page, and check out the video after the jump....

Season's Greetings From Sam & FearNet
I know, I know... it is a few weeks after Christmas. But I just saw this recently made FearNet promo for the Christmas Season and I just had to post it. It features everybodies favorite little monster Sam from Trick R' Treat and it is humorous as usual. FearNet always gets me with these creepy ass videos because they usually feature kids, and I love how they always leave off with a countdown to Halloween. You can see many of the past promo videos over at Michael Dougherty's Vimeo page, and you can see the 2012 Holiday video after the jump...

'Making Friends' Is A Short Film That Is A New Take On The Frankenstein Story... And It's Wonderful!
Director Mike Dougherty made a classic Halloween horror anthology film entitled Trick R Treat... it is one of the greatest horror films of the last 20 years. If you haven't seen it, get in there (it's on Netflix Instant) and see it right away. It has become a Halloween tradition here in the DeVito household. Anyway, FearNet shows Trick R Treat all day on Halloween, and as a part of that marathons promotion they contracted Mr Dougherty to make a short film. It is entitled 'Making Friends' and is one of the coolest versions of the Frankenstein mythos I have ever seen. It even features everyone's favorite masked villain, Sam! Click after the jump to see the whole short...
