Today Is CCD's 5th Anniversary... WOW!!!!!!!

Hey guys... today is the 5th Anniversary of the creation of this here CCD blog. I had the idea for Cultural Compulsive Disorder when I was sitting alone in my apartment one night checking emails. Me and a few of the guys were bouncing emails back and forth about cool stuff we found online. Things like dope art, cool nerdy T Shirts, or the newest movie trailer. These email threads would go on forever between my core group of friends.... so why not give a central place for us to go to and view all these stories? Hence the birth of CCD... and oh so far we have come. We went from a 20 post a week blog to a company that sports it's own Podcast, it's own bi-monthly art shows, and even a companion website to sell nerdy art created just for us! In the five years we have been around we have had over 3,500 POSTS, over 5,000 comments, and OVER 6,000,000 PAGEVIEWS... HOLY SHIT! 6 Million yo... who would thunk it? So this goes out to the whole CCD creative fam that ever composed a post, the CCD extended fam that comes to all our functions and supports us, all the readers of the blog, and even all the people who have ever shared one of our links on their favorite social media network... THANK ALL OF YOU VERY MUCH! CCD is on the upswing... but if it ended all RIGHT NOW it would be ok with me cause this is more then I could have ever imagined it becoming!

Thanks again gang... 5 years down, 55 more to GO!

Hey gang... it has been an eventful year for us here at the CCD Podcast. We got a ton of episodes in the can, we got a chance to do some live shows from cool locations, and we even got more exciting stuff on the horizon for 2015! But before we move forward, we must take a look back at the 2014 year that was and weigh in across the board. Happy Birthday Jeffy!!!!

Today is a great day... I get to celebrate a birthday with one of my best buds! Those of you guys who read CCD know of Jeff Bond, one of the behind the scenes guys here at the website. He has been involved with CCD since the early days, when he started posting his awesome Lost recap blogs during Season 6. He then continued with his 'I'd Buy That As A T' T-shirt posts & his 'Like, Like?' art features. But what most people don't know is that Jeff works tirelessly behind the scenes, editing and helping to keep the website looking good as well as always being their whenever we have any extra curricular activities like our tireless coverage of NYC Comic Con. My man has been by my side since the beginning, so its only fitting that as we stand on the cusp of expanding the site that he is right there with me. Happy bday brother man... enjoy this picture of Rebo from the Cantina Band as a cake on your nerdy bday!!!! Party up kid....

Gallery 1988 Presents Crazy 4 Cult In NYC... And CCD Was There!!!

The CCD crew decided to venture into Manhattan and check out the Gallery 1988 art show Craxzy 4 Cult for ourselves on its opening night last week. It is a dope show, and my only knock on it was that it was in too small a space. People who were waiting to buy prints and pieces formed a line along one whole side of the gallery and prevented people from seeing that half of the show. But for the pieces that I did get a shot to see... all I can say is wow! There are some great pieces in the show, and I had to bust out the camera on my tablet to take some photos for all of you guys to see for yourself. It was crazy packed and hard to take pics, but I did my best. Not all of these will appear online (some are featured over at gallery 1988's website and many other sites like ours) so this might be the only chance you get to see it. The show runs through September, so try and get down to 64 Ganservoort St. and see the magnificent work for yourself. Check out my pics after the jump...
