Mondo Does It Again... This Time With A LP and Poster For Nacho Vigalando's 'Timecrimes'

Mondo has built a solid reputation for creating cool collectibles and enjoying monster team ups with some of the best properties in the world. So when they do something cool, it is not really that shocking... but yet they continue to outdo themselves with every email announcing their next collaboration. Last month it was their Duck Tales the Videogame posters (we previewed them here), and now they have done it again. They are highlighting the awesomeness of Nacho Vigalando's Timecrimes, one of the greatest time travel movies I have ever seen. This underrated and not-seen-nearly-enough film is one of the greatest gems I have ever discovered on Netflix Instant (stream it now!). Now Mondo is upping the cool quotient of this film by releasing a vinyl LP (I know a bunch of kids are like "WTF is that???") of the soundtrack that was put together by Eugenio Mira. The artwork of the LP cover (interior fold out and exteriors covers) provided by We Buy Your Kids. They have also created a poster (duh... it's Mondo) based on the artwork of the record. Both will be announced for sale on Mondo's Twitter account today (Friday, Sept. 27th) at some random time... so click here and follow them to get the alert if you want to own this piece of vinyl or the poster. As per usual, they will sell out super quick. So get on it son! Check out the detailed pics after the jump... and watch this movie ASAP if you haven't already!

Superman Collectibles From Canada Post And The Royal Canadian Mint

Famed Kryptonian Superman may be as American as apple pie, but co-creator Joe Shuster was, himself, from the Great White North. Feeling somewhat responsible for the most famous superhero of all time, Canada has released a series of commemorative coins of Kal-El through the years. Minted from gold, silver and cupro-nickel (steel, oddly, never came into play), the seven coins feature the iconic superhero in various poses and include lenticular and holographic versions that change color and animate as they're tilted. The face value of the coins ranges from 50 cents to $75; however, they cost from $30 to $750. Still, that's far less expensive than Supes' debut "Action Comics" issue, which sold for $2.16 million in 2011.

Check out all the collectibles after the jump...

ABOUT THE DESIGNS

This 10-stamp booklet includes 5 designs (2 of each) that showcase the evolution of Superman’s image, from his origins to present day. The illustrations come from:
  • 1939: Superman #1, cover drawn by Joe Shuster
  • 1945: Superman #32, cover drawn by Wayne Boring
  • 1971: Superman #233, cover drawn by Neal Adams
  • 2004: Superman #204, interior image drawn by Jim Lee
  • 2012: Superman Annual #1, cover drawn by Kenneth Rocafort

The 5 booklet covers are plucked straight from the comic book covers you love!
  • 1939: Superman #1, drawn by Joe Shuster
  • 1939: Action Comics #13, drawn by Joe Shuster
  • 1986: Man of Steel #1 Special Collector’s Edition, drawn by John Byrne
  • 2004: Superman #204, drawn by Jim Lee
  • 2012: Superman Annual #1, drawn by Kenneth Rocafort

I ordered on of the Stamp Books with two examples of each of these along with this neat first day display which I planned to get framed.

Canada honors Superman's 75th with a series of commemorative coins.

These coins from the Canadian Mint also look great but are expensive. They are legal tender and can be redeemed at any bank for the going rate of silver or gold. I do like this one for 30 dollars with includes a lenticular coin and comes with a nice booklet and Superman stamp. Maybe a cool Christmas gift for the Superman collector in your life?

OHC's of the Day: 2013 New Network TV Stars Edition

It has been a while since we have done a Obscure Hot Chick of the Day pictorial spread here on CCD, so given that this is the new TV season and there are a ton of hotties starring in new shows I figured it was a fitting topic to bring back our old favorite story topic. I think you lovers of newly unveiled hot TV starlets will appreciate this one. I threw in 6 of these (probably) unknown actresses on this list for you to become familiar with... but I am sure they will be household names soon enough.  Check out all the pics after the jump...

1) Chloe Bennet - Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D - One of the team on Marvel's new live action TV show. I wouldn't mind being arrested by her... just saying!

2) Melissa Fumero - Brooklyn 99 - Starring opposite doofy looking Andy Samberg might even make this stunner hotter!

3) Phoebe Tonkin - The Originals - Not really interested in this Vampire Diaries spin off, but I was never really interested in the Vampire Diaries but always found room to admire Nina Dobrev. Same thing here.

4) Sleepy Hollow - Nicole Beharie - Nice to see a black actress as a lead in a show. Cute too... it helps!

5) Megan Boone - The Blacklist - I hope this ambitious show doesn't get cancelled because James Spader is an awesome bad guy helping out the good guys and Ms. Boone is impossible not to oogle. That women is pure sexy...

6) Jessica De Gouw - Dracula - Not really interested in this show, can totally understand why ole Drac has his eyes (and teeth) set on this cutie though...

The Dr. Suess - Jurassic Park Themed Hotel That Can't Possibly Be Part Of a Major Hotel Chain.. But Is!

Chain hotels tend to be just that... links in a a chain. They are cookie cutter, exactly alike, and a word like unique is not often used to describe them. Holiday Inn, Best Western, Days Inn... no matter where you are in the country, if you walk into one of these places than you are basically going to see more of the exact same things. The lobbies are identical, the rooms are furnished the same, and the rates are about the same no matter where you go. Truly not unique. Unless you go to the Best Western in Denver.. than you are in for a treat!!! The BW in Denver decided to convert their hotel to a themed resort... not only one theme, but two! They love Dr. Suess, and they love dinosaurs... so why not make Suesstastic Park!!! Yup, the whole hotel has a dinosaur theme with a Suess-ian twist. This is so amazing, and even more impressive when you realize that you are getting such a unique experience while paying the same price as most other Best Westerns (around 90-100 a night). One of the coolest aspects has to be that they contacted awesome toy customizer Sillof to create some figures to display around the property that adopt the characteristics of what a Dr. Suess designed dinosaur would look like. A very unique hotel in the world of usual normalcy. Book your stay at the Best Western Denver asap by clicking here, and check out some cool pics after the jump...
