One Of My Favorite Movies Ever Gets A New Poster by Simon Hellsing
I absolutely love the movie Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind happens to be one of my all time favorite movies. If you have never seen this film and/or think that Jim Carrey is not capable of making a quality movie, than do yourself a favor and make some time to catch this one (it is available for streaming via Netflix Instant). Carrey shines across the screen from perennial Oscar candidate Kate Winslet, and Michael Gondry directed a phenomenal film. I'll always love the original poster of Carrey & Winslet laying on the ice, but this re-boot poster by artist Simon Hellsing is just beautiful. Click after the jump to see the new poster...
Kaley Cuoco Cares About Cosplay... And Is Freaking Hot!!!
I love me a Public Service Announcement, especially when it has something to do with the geek world. It doesn't hurt when the message is being delivered by the walking hotness that is Kaley Cuoco of the Big Bang Theory. in this PSA from Break.com Cuoco takes on one of the biggest problems facing chicks cosplaying in the geek world: Too Many SLAVE LEIA costumes!!! Wow, These Crazy Ecuadorians Really Know How To Party On New Years Eve!!!
When my boy Edson sends me an email with a tip for CCD, I usually pay close attention. This is exactly the reason why. Edson sent me this crazy email from over at io9 (damn corporate blogs with their funding and their traveling staff... wait, what?) about the practices of people in Ecuador prior to the New Year. In villages all over the country the people construct huge paper & wood figures known as "Anos Viejos" (Old Years) to be burnt in celebration of the change in calendar. But here is the thing that makes these paper constructs so fucking cool... they make them in all types of images, especially nerdy fanboy faves!!! Don't believe me? See for yourself... click after the jump to see some of the geekiest "Anos Viejos" from this years New years celebration...
Now This Is The Bond Movie I Want To See...
With Sam Mendes heading up the next chapter in the Bond franchise (entitled Skyfall) we here at CCD are eagerly awaiting the next Craig entry. It should be a lot better then 'Quantum of Solace', and hopefully they can re-capture some of the magic from 'Casino Royale'. But what if they wanted to take the franchise in a completely original and different direction? Artist Ninja Ink decided to test this hypothesis by coming up with his own original idea for a Bond movie entitled "Only The Good Die Twice", and for this one he is not only featuring Daniel Craig but also the original James Bond himself... Sean Connery!!!! Click after the jump for a full synopsis and movie poster for this fantastic idea...
Official Synopsis:
"Only the Good Die Twice" is a spy story set within the fictional James Bond universe. Through the prologue, it is revealed that the name "James Bond" is the codename for agents with 007 status and that the original James Bond from the Cold War (played by Sean Connery in a returning role) has gone rogue and is now the head of SPECTRE. The current Bond is tasked by MI6 to stop him before he can initiate a global thermonuclear war.And here is another poster from Ninja Ink:

JLA Paint Blots by Nicholas Hyde
I am always a fan of anytime we get a representation of the big 7 from the Justice League, but these minimalistic paint blotted styles for the 7 characters just absolutely took my breath away. Artist Nicholas Hyde really gets the basics right on these, but gives them his own special spin to make them unique. Click after the jump for all 7 pieces...
Captain Jack Will Get You (Nerd) High Tonite...
Given the fact that I spend an inordinate amount of time surfing the 'Net, I am bound to find some really cool gems hidden here or there. But very rarely do you come across something as Nerd-tastic as this next video. We have Captain Jack Harkness (John Barrowman) of Doctor Who/Torchwood fame performing in a one man show in 2010. He is reminiscing about his love for superheroes, and decides to launch into a full on song and dance version of the 70's Spiderman/Wonder Woman theme songs. Oh, and did I mention the fact that he is accompanied by a costumed Spiderman and some sexy Wonder Woman dancers to make it all come together? Good god, this is as nerdy as it gets. Click after the jump for this beautiful bit of nerdgasm from the good ole Captain himself...

Dry Bones by Michael Puncekar
Dry Bones was always one of the coolest enemies that the Mario Bros. encountered on their many adventures through the mushroom kingdom. I always liked (or should I say disliked) this enemy because he came back to life after Mario crumbled him to bits... this never say die character could always pop back up again, so you better move on quickly. Puncekar kills it yet again with another one of his Sketches of the Day. He has drawn some really cool things over the past couple of years, so take a minute and click here to see more of his work. You can see the full sized Dry Bones after the jump...
