... our upcoming star for DC!!!! Gal Gadot is the next big DC star, as Wonder Woman in Batman v Superman. So why not make her part of this years 12 Days of Sex-y Woman countdown even if she doesn't have any actual Christmas pics? These will do....

Justice League Brewery: Adult Beverages In Honor Of The JLA by Marcello Rizzetto

My love for comics was forged at a very early age. I remember being four or five and walking into my local neighborhood candy store, seeing a rack of comics, and falling in love with how colorful they were. From that point on I spent my life idolizing comic book characters, buying and collecting hundreds and thousands of them through the years. But now I am a grown up geek, and I have grown up needs. Enter graphic designer Marcello Rizzetto, who must be in the same boat as me and decided to do something about it. He created a six pack of beers based on the core six members of the Justice League, with each beer taking on characteristics of each hero. This is a killer idea. Superman as a super strong Pale Ale. Wonder Woman as an American Lager. The Flash as an Irish Red Ale. Aquaman as a Belgian Blonde Ale. Green Lantern as a special edition St Patrick's Day Green Beer. And finally Batman as a Dark Ale. It all works so perfect, both in reference to the heroes and to the potentially deliciousness of these beers! I can get behind this. The Ladies Of DC Comics Take A Trip Back To The 1940s Thanks To Ant Lucia

Ant Lucia is an accomplished artist that has a dope website and very unique style to his pieces. He gets the 'pin up' feel to everything he draws, and the realism in his work is balanced out by the fun nature of the characters poses and surroundings. It is not so serious, which makes all that he does really dope. Case in point: Check out his new series of DC Heroines and Villains with a 1940s feel. These are perfect, and the setting and background that each character is placed into fit wonderfully. And the ladies... well the ladies are looking pretty spectacular themselves. And the coolest part is the website QxM is offering these prints in a huge 18 x 24 format for a mere $ 14.95 !!! That is really cheap considering how big that print is. There are 10 all together, but some are available for purchase now and some are just available for pre-order to be shipped down the road. WW - A Wonder Woman Film Short by Rainfall Films

Here is something I can't seem to grasp: DC Comics is sitting on a goldmine of a property in Wonder Woman and they can't seem to monetize on the potential of the character in any forum besides comics. Why??? The character has been around for over 60 years (tons of back story to pull from), is stepped in mythology for cool side characters and villains (I certainly wouldn't mind seeing Ares or an island full of Amazonian woman), she is sexy (for the guys) and a symbol of a powerful feminine character (for the ladies) that is a lead in a story, and is probably the most recognizable character in the DC stables besides Superman & Batman. So why is it so hard to get this character in a TV show or a movie? WTF DC... stop dropping the ball. Diana Prince has long been a favorite of Cosplayers and amateur filmmakers as a subject, and since DC isn't pulling the trigger on a project anytime soon it seems like they are just proving the point on how much potential the character has. We put up a short film some time earlier this year (click here to see it), but now we have a brand new short from Rainfall Films that will blow you away. Rileah Vanderbilt (Adam Green's kick ass wife and the star of the very underrated horror film Frozen!) takes up the mantle and does Diana justice. All it needed was an Invisible Plane sighting and it would have been perfect... maybe in the sequel! Lets hope these short films help get DC up off their asses! Check Out Some Pop Culture Characters Posing As Rosie the Riveter

Labor Day often is used as the signal that the summer has come to an end, and it is often looked upon as a great vacation weekend because almost everyone gets a day off from work on Monday. But most people forget that the holiday is a celebration of work in general, and all the jobs that people have occupied in the past. It is a general 'Thanks for all the hard work' celebration. Rosie the Riveter is a character that is often tied to women and their role in the work force, especially back during WW II. Rosie symbolized woman as being a strong and intricate part of keeping the American workforce up and running during a time of war when men were away fighting. In honor of Labor Day, IO9 posted a gallery of artistic creations depicting high profile female pop culture characters doing their best Rosie interpretations. Denis Medri Takes The JLA Back To The Wild, Wild West

We have featured many artists here on CCD over the last few years, and it is always nice to come across one a bit down the road still doing great work. Denis Medri was featured here on CCD last August for his Star Wars High sketches, and now he is back with his take on the JLA. Medri decided to take these DC Comic mainstays on a trip down the ole trail, as he has re-imagined them in a style of the Old West. I like the distinct western characteristics he gave each of the original seven (plus Green Arrow), but I have to say that Martian Manhunter's mustache and Aquaman's spear are two of my favorite details. Batman is still king... no matter what! Check all of them out after the jump...
