Marvel Robots by Keanu 432
The robot has been becoming more and more prevalent in pop culture. Yup, everything has its way around. Vampires were hot about 5 years ago, then zombies. It is the robots time to shine. Pacific Rim, Transformers 4, Almost Human... yeah, its time for the robot overkill. Enter artist Keanu 432, who decided to re-imagine some of the classic Marvel characters as if they were robots. You certainly get the feel that this is how they would look if they were robot like beings. These are quite good, and he has other cool stuff over at his Imgur page. Check out the Marvel Robots after the jump...

Artin' It Up: Loki Classic Edition by Tommy Lombardozzi
Hey folks! It's been a bit since I've shared anything here on C.C.D. I just haven't been as prolific, art-wise, as I once was. But, I'm back with a little step-by-step. Some folks are interested in the creative process. I did one of these once before with a Venom piece I created, and people seemed to dig it. Big Mike D. asked if I'd share a recent piece of mine, with a little breakdown of the process, so, here' goes.
See more after the jump
First off, lemme preface this by saying that I have been doing a number of old-school-style comic book character pieces of late. I'm not sure why. They're fun. Maybe I'm getting in a comic headspace, gearing up for our appearance at this year's NYCC (woooha!) Whatever the case, that's what I've been doing a lot of. This is one of those pieces.
It's called
"LOKI CLASSIC"The size is 6.5"x9" (or so)
and it's done in marker & spray paint.
1) This is the first stage. In lieu of penciling, I opt to do the figure's layout in marker. It's risky to not pencil something out first, but that's part of the fun. I have been doing these types of pieces on comic book backing boards. Their laminated finish adds to the markers' streaky, sketchy look. It kind of reminds me of paint. It adds a level of uncertainty that I like.
2) Once I have the shapes laid out with the marker base, I use a paint marker to ink it. The idea is that this should look like a Golden Age (of comics) ink job; broad and bold.
Eventually, if I amass enough of these comic book backing board comic book character drawings, I'll have to find something to do with them. Frame them, sell them (hey, you can buy lotsa stuff at tommylombardozzi.com! Yeah, get in there!), we'll see.
Anyway, I hope you've enjoyed this edition of 'Artin' It Up'. Send feedback, words of encouragement, and pictures of your tits. I'd love to hear from you.
See you next time, C.C.Degenerates!
Smile up.

What If Albert Hitchcock Had Made Superhero Movies?
Artist Alberto Muriel is now the regular artist over at Propeller, and boy can the guy bring the funk. In order to celebrate his ascension to his new position, he has released four very cool photos of restructure key scenes from Alfred Hitchcock films to feature Comic Book Characters in the key roles. My favorite is the Green Lantern/Sinestro infused North by Northwest. You can check out all four after the jump... they are fantastic....
Dial M for Murder with Norman Osbourne & Gwen Stacy
Rear Window Professor X & Jean Grey
North by Northwest with Green Lantern & Sinestro
Strangers On A Train with Loki & Harvey Dent

3 Reasons Why I Can't Wait For The Avengers Cartoon On Disney XD
Aside from the great looking animation, here are three reasons why I am psyched to see this cartoon.
- Ant Man (Hank Pym) seems to be able to combine his Ant Man powers (shrinking) and Giant Man powers (growing) in one character. This makes a lot of sense to me, since he has had both powers in the past. As far as I recall, Pym only had one of these powers working at a time back in the comics (I could be wrong though... am I?) and I never understood why. In this trailer we see him minaturized running through blades of grass and big enough to pick up a supertanker. Dope... just dope.
- Loki. Thats it for me. Loki is one of my all time favorite villians. He is awesome, plus his helmet is fucking great. I do not know if he has ever gored somebody with his tusk helmet in the comics, but if it hasn't then Quesada and the crew need to make that happen. He looks to be a re-occuring character on this show, and rumors that he will also be the main villian in The Avengers live action movie make me h-h-h-h-happy (Simple Jack voice).
- Iron Man being deignated the leader. Thats gonna piss Cap off a bit, no? Judging from all the bad blood between the two of them since the Civil War drama a few years back, and the constant struggle between them throughout the years to be the top cheese, I think this will be a big part of the show. It's interesting to me, and I can not wait to see how it plays out.
