Will Power Man Be Contractually Required To Wear Old Spice In His Movie Debut???

This is a funny story. Isaiah Mustafa, the guy from the awesome 'Old Spice' commercials ("look... I'm on a horse") has it in his head that he wants to play Luke Cage (Power Man) in a big screen version of the Marvel Comic. While there has been some talk of giving Cage a shot for a solo feature, rumors are that Idris Elba might get the nod. Elba was cast in 'Thor' as Heimdall the Gatekeeper and he absolutely killed it. Judging by the way Marvel likes to dig back through their older movies for stars on their newer projects, I was leaning towards Elba for Cage as well. So who will be the "Hero for Hire" on the big screen?

It looks like Mustafa ain't waiting around to lose the role to Elba, who already has a foot through the door. Mustafa put together this faux trailer for a Power Man movie and it looks pretty cool. Take a look for yourself:

Now that's how you go after it!!! I would have liked Mustafa to look a bit bigger (Cage is gigantic), but that can probably be fixed with some CGI. My only beef is that he should have wore the silver headpiece from the vintage (70's/80's) Cage comics.

I know Luke Cage isn't rocking that look anymore, but Mustafa would have score major points with Quesada and the gang over at Marvel. Who do you think Power Man should be? Tell us in the comment section below.

Evan Rachel Wood Takes It Off For Marilyn....

... Manson that is! Manson and everyone's favorite vampire queen were an item  for a long time, and Manson snapped some of these photos at a home shoot. Now this is what I am talking about. If I was rich, these are the kind of hobbies I would have. Fuck flying planes, doing drugs, and all that shit... I'll be an amateur photographer for hotties that I am banging all day. Here are the photos... be careful, they are Not Safe For Work due to nipples!!!

Sharks In A Supermarket??? Yes Please!!!!

Yeah, I just typed that... I can't believe it either. Here is the trailer for Bait, starring Julian McMahon & Xavier Samuel. You NEED to watch this.

Here is the synopsis... I have no words:
In a sleepy beach community shoppers at an underground supermarket are terrorized by a crazed bandit when the unimaginable occurs: A monstrous freak tsunami swallows the town. Now trapped, with rushing water threatening to entomb them in a watery grave the survivors discover they are not alone. The tsunami has brought unwanted visitors from the depths. Not only must they overcome the threat of drowning and the predator within their midst, but a threat far more deadly and far more bloodthirsty – hungry great white sharks.
Yeah... I'm down. I watch enough shitty movies that may sound good and end up terrible. I can't wait to watch a film about sharks in a FUCKING SUPERMARKET!!!! I'll let you know after I watch, but I think I got my new favorite movie!!!! We're gonna need a bigger frozen food aisle!!!

2 Pigs In A Pod

I absolutely love this drawing of a romantic evening between Miss Piggy and a Gamorrean guard from Return of the Jedi. Aren't these two perfect for each other?

Alan Rickman Shows Why He Is One Of My Favorite Actors Ever

I have loved Alan Rickman ever since I first saw him as a Hans Gruber in Die Hard. He has gone on to make some amazing movies, from playing the voice of God Metatron in Dogma to The Sheriff of Nottingham in Costner's Robin Hood. But for the last 10 years he has forged a career as Severus Snape, teacher of a little wizard by the name of Harry Potter. For a generation of kids who grew up on the Potter books and movies, Snape (and therefore Rickman) will always be in their hearts as a truly conflicted character who is quite complicated and just as important to the story as Harry himself. With the last Potter movie almost upon release, Rickman recognizes just how important this role has been and he took out a full page advertisement in Empire Magazine to say goodbye to the Harry Potter franchise and a big Thank You to author JK Rowling. A classy gesture from a classy man. Here it is for your enjoyment:

The Hangover + The Muppets = Danny Trejo

Wait.....what?

The most telling and exciting thing about this teaser, is that it's a spoof of, and is going to be running in front of "The Hangover Part II." A trailer, for a Muppet movie, before a hard R rated movie. That's of course not to say that I'm expecting it to be "Meet The Feebles" but it does speak to the audience they are selling this movie to and the confidence they have in it.

Can we hope to have more movie specific teasers throughout the summer as we build towards "The Muppets?" Perhaps Harry Potter and Captain America style Muppet teasers!

Man there are going to be a lot of celebrities in this thing eh? Not too much more footage than the last teaser. Some shots of an apparently dilapidated Muppet Theater. Not used in quite some time as evidenced by the Rubik's Cube on the desk. Looks like maybe Kermit's old office judging by the line of banjos adorning the wall.

I love all the quotes and their respective sources. I would totally subscribe to "This Week Monthly."

How Come I Have Never Seen This?

Check out this really cool cover of 'The Incredible Hulk Vol #2 Issue #49' by the magnificent comic cover artist Kaare Andrews. This came out back in 2003 when I was on a hiatus from the comic industry, so that's why I must have missed it. You gotta love the 'Where The Wild Things Are' ideals that The Hulk has always displayed... the delicate balance between the large monster, that the Hulk is, and the much smaller but, more intelligent Max/David Banner holding them in check. Great cover. Hope you enjoy:

Boba Tea by Joby Cummings

I love me some Bubble Tea, so why not try some Boba Tea... with special carbonite balls at the bottom!!! Joby Cummings really had a great idea with this one. Check out the rest of his work, you will love it!

Possible Wolverine Sequel Directors And Pseudo "Tease Trailer"

This current status of the new Wolverine is completely up in the air. The franchise is still viable and the studio has already invested in it, so it's going to happen. I've bemoaned the more recent developments, and as much as I disliked the last film and the departure of Aronofsky, there's a secret part of me that wants to see this movie. Still buried deep within me I want another Wolverine movie with Hugh Jackman. I want Wolverine Japan goddammit!

I keep hoping there will be some announcement of a crazy awesome left field Director like Clint Eastwood or The Cohen Brothers.....a boy can dream can't he!!??

Apparently the studio is eying eight potential Directors. In all their lackluster glory they are...

Justin Lin: Annapolis, The Fast and the Furious films.

Doug Liman: Swingers, GO, The Bourne Identity, Mr. & Mrs. Smith, Jumper, Fair Game.

Antoine Fuqua: Training Day, Tears of the Sun, King Arthur, Shooter and Brooklyn's Finest.

James Mangold: Walk the Line, 3:10 to Yuma, Knight & Day.

Mark Romanek: One Hour Photo, Never Let Me Go.

Gavin O’Connor: Miracle, Warrior.

Jose Padilha: Elite Squad the upcoming RoboCop remake(blech)

Gary Shore: A bunch of commercials.

bllllleeeeeeeaaaarrgggghhhhh

None of these choices are very inspired. Of them I guess Mark Romanek is my favorite, but having such limited credits he'll likely just end up being the studios bitch. The rest of them are talented enough Directors, and I've enjoyed some of their films. But even guys like Doug Liman and Jame Mangolds have crapped out flicks "Jumper" and "Knight & Day." That's exactly the type of bland studio fare that the first movie was, and what I don't want this one to be.

Why couldn't it have been Aronofsky? WHY!? DAMN YOU ALL!!!!

BERZERKER RAGE!!!
...

Somewhat interesting is the last name. Gary Shore. Obviously we don't know him as a commercial Director. But apparently this young Director put together a little fan film teaser to a Wolverine sequel a few months ago. Whether it was an attempt to get some attention who knows, but I have to say it is pretty damn cool.
