Call of the Dead

Ack! Zombies!

A zombie bonus mode in a video game! How original!!!

...

Ok, standard cynicism aside, I can't help but get a little excited about the trailer for the new Call of Duty DLC. I'm not even really a big fan of FPS games, but I may have to just give this a whirl.

A great Grindhouse homage trailer, featuring some cool genre actors. The song from Return of the Living Dead being used makes me all tingly inside!

I'm sure the game itself will be littered with references and winks to the undead loving audience. The trailer itself is brimming with them. I mean Robert Englund even says..."This must be a nightmare"........Ya know.....cause he....come on....COME ON....youuuu know.....cause the guy...and he was......with the....SO FUNNY!

The '3 Amigos' Reunite In Empire Magazine

This month's issue of Empire Magazine features an article about the 25th anniversary of 'The 3 Amigos'. For those of you who live under some sort of a rock this is one of the funniest movies of my childhood (my opinion of course) and features Chevy Chase, Steve Martin and Martin Short when they were in their primes. It was also directed by John Landis (we love him here at CCD!!!), so I had to bring this article to everyones attention. The bit in the movie about the meaning of the word "plethora" has always been one of my favorites. Here it is for your viewing pleasure:

Here are the pics that were included in the mag as well as a quick video from the photo shoot. Did you love the 3 Amigos back in the day? Tell us your thoughts in the comment section below!

The Age Old Question: Who Shot First, The Chicken or The Egg? by Glenn Garcia

Check out this very cool take on the old parable with a Star Wars twist that incorporates one of the great nerd debates of all time... Great job Glenn, I want this on a shirt ASAP! Threadless submission perhaps? Lets Go!!!

Meet Your New Lone Ranger... It's Armie Hammer!!!

I have to admit I am a bit excited about this. I always liked the Lone Ranger when I was a child, and when I heard that Gore Verbinski got his 'Pirates of the Carribean' star Johnny Depp into the role of Tonto I didn't need much else to convince me. But at the end of the day, the star of the show is always gonna be the guy playing the famous masked man that shouts "Hi-yo Silver... AWAY!!!"... so who better to give the part in Disney's newest version of the classic charcater to one of the rising stars of Hollywood, Armie Hammer.

Hammer is probably most well known for playing both of the Winklevoss twins in "The Social Network". He really brought those characters to life and played the smooth rich kid (s) well opposing uber geek Marc Zuckerman (Jesse Eisenberg) about stealing the idea of Facebook from them. What most people do not know is that Armie almost became a full blown star a few years back when he was tapped to play Batman/Bruce Wayne in the massive Justice League movie that never took off.

The proposed cast for the failed Justice League movie...
That one never worked out (Thanks alot DC Comics... meh!) and Hammer chipped away acting in all sorts of stuff until he hit the jackpot with 'The Social Network'. It's good to see him get a shot at a tentpole film and possible franchise starter. Good luck Armie... Be on the look at for this one sometime in the next few years (I can't believe I just typed that... grrrrrr!!!).

'The Batman Complex' Is Something You Need To Watch If You Love Nolan's Dark Knight

Here is a cool fan made trailer that is making the rounds on all the big geek sites ( /Film, Topless Robot, etc)... which means I usually wouldn't have posted it since those guys had it covered. But this one is to cool to ignore. Here you go:

Here is what the creator of the faux trailer, The Man Batman, has said about the vid:

The gist of the idea revolves around a few fun topics, mainly the whole “what is real?” train of thought, and also every fans desire, deep down or upfront, to be Batman at least once in their lives. LOL. And so, I tried to craft a story where we see what happens when someone takes their dream of being Batman a little bit too far. An idea, after all, is a truly resilient parasite. ;)
While some of it is still left a bit ambiguous (both unintentionally and intentionally – while there’s only so much that can be strung together, I often like to leave a little bit open so as to see what fellow fans are able to imagine/create)… I wanted to focus more on the character aspects (and a bit of the tragedy as well), and attempt to move past the initial shock of the psychological twist. One aspect I tried to hint at was the paralleling descent of both Bruce and Cobb. As Cobb and the team go deeper into Bruce’s mind, they start to encounter the truly dark issues that his subconscious houses. As a result, Cobb himself gets caught up in the obsession of all that lingers in the mind of a Batman. There are a couple fun things in there that are best left to surprise, but all in all, I’m relatively happy with how it turned out. It’s fairly fast paced and doesn’t leave much room to breath, which helps amplify the tension I think. But that’s just me.

Inception, Batman Begins, The Dark Knight & The Machinist all in one? YES PLEASE!!! Would you watch this? Please leave some comments in the section below!!!

Just Another Reason To Love Gingers...

... well, the hot ones anyway! Looks like the lovely Blake Lively has switched from her blonde locks to a redder shade, and I am loving this look!!! She is a true hottie (I have seen her in person and she holds up... well!) and this hair color fits the young beauty. Plus, this new hair color gives me a reason to run 5 hot pics of this hot piece of ass... you guys will be seeing much more of Blake in the upcoming Green Lantern movie. Thanks to Celebslam for the pics.

A to Z Blogging Challenge - Day #24 - Letter X - Xzibit - Paparazzi

This is one of the greatest rap songs ever made. I say this with a straight face... 100%! The beat is amazing, and what makes it even more substantial is that this was The X Man's first song!!! This song brings back a ton of memories from South Broward High in 1995-1996, my man Tone Capone from Stixfigure, Big Vic and Richie Staples, and a great song amongst a ton of other amazing joints that came out around that time. The video is also just as stunning... peep these lyrics, my man X gets it in!!!

Even if you are not a fan of Rap you have to acknowledge that the beat on this one is beautifully hypnotic. Great job X.... leave the custom cars alone and make another song like this!

Wu Tang Wednesday - Method Man - The Riddler (Batman Forever Soundtrack)

I know this one is a day late... sorry! I always had a soft spot for this track. It came of the Batman Forever soundtrack... a much maligned movie. I always liked the movies campiness, but most people hated the shit out of it. Even if you hate Schumacher's version of the Bat (for Christ Sake, are those nipples?), it's hard to knock this wonderful vid featuring Mr. Meth. I love the way they Corleone-ized Meth... he looks like a chubby Ice Cube!!! Enjoy the track... Wu Tang Forever!

A to Z Blogging Challenge - Day #23 - Letter W - Wikipedia

There is no more powerful tool that I use in my daily fight against the man's oppression then good ole Wiki! While the information is not always 100% accurate (the info is user uploaded, but is mostly a very good source of info!) it can't be rivaled by any other site for sheer information amount. I love Wiki, and I use it in almost every blog post I write. Hey Wiki... Thanks for being a friend (Golden Girls voice)...
