Music videos are a dying industry. They basically are still being made, but don't really have a home because channels like MTV spend more time showing Teen Mom rather than actual music videos. But viral videos are all the rage, so what if a music video is shot and posted on things like Vimeo/Youtube/Tumblr and promoted like a film short? That will get it out in the world, shared on Facebook, and viewed by people. That will also promote the original song, which was the whole purpose for making a music video in the first place... right? I don't know, but if the end result is the crazy GoPro shot video in the vein of Crank, then I am fine with it. The Killers - Here With Me

Tim Burton has a very unique style, and any fan of his can see it a mile away. My first thought upon seeing the new music video for The Killers song Here With Me was that someone was clearly trying to channel Burton is the direction of the video. But then when I noticed that the video featured Burton alum Winona Ryder in a prominent role I took a closer look and came to find out that the clip was directed by Burton himself!!! What a fantastically creeptastic video featuring Craig Robertson, the go to current creepy looking kid in Hollywood (he was the kid with the blank expression in Submarine, a killer film that you should all seek out). Who The Hell Is Rita Ora & Why Is She So F@#king Hot???

I have been hearing a pop song called 'How We Do' (Party & Bullshit) being played on the radio for over a month now. But since MTV & other music networks don't play music videos anymore (wtf is up with that anyway?) I have never seen the video for the song. But that changed early this morning and I saw the video, and good god this Rita Ora chick is smoking hot!!!! I think I have a new crush. No Church In The Wild - Jay-Z & Kanye West ft. Frank Ocean

Watch The Throne was my favorite album last summer, uniting two hip hop legends like Jay-Z & Kanye to produce a pretty great record. One of the hottest tracks on the album had to be 'No Church In The Wild'. The beat is bananas, the lyrics are fantastic, and Frank Ocean's street sounding R&B sound complete a perfect track. It has such an ominous beat that it has become the "it" song for movie trailers since last summer, featuring prominently in the Denzel Washington/Ryan Reynolds film Safe House & the upcoming Leonardo DiCaprio version of The Great Gatsby (Huh... wtf?). So it seemed fitting for the crew to reach out to Romain Gravas, who has a knack for making music videos that may only be 4 minutes long but are like full length movies. This one is full of drama and intensity. Plus I love that they used the unedited version of the song for the video. Check it out embedded after the jump....

Tenacious D Is Back... Let The Fenix Rize!!!!

As far as pet projects go, I have always held a special place in my heart for Tenacious D. The gag band, that features comedic actors Kyle Gass and Jack Black, are much more than just a one note sideshow. They are actually HUGE fans of the hard rock they perform in the group and would definitely have loved to have lived that career path if they could do it all over again. One of the most underrated movies I have ever seen has to be Tenacious D & The Pick of Destiny. The movie is very polarizing, and a lot of people hate it. But if you are a fan of things like Spinal Tap, Flight of the Concords, or similar properties than you are probably one of the few like me who loved it. I am actually not a huge fan of Black on a regular basis, but I always liked him opposite Gass in the fictional hard rock band. So to tout their return album, "Rize of the Fenix", here is the pro,o video they released for the film. It stars The D alongside celebs like Val Kilmer, Maria Menudous, Josh Groban, and others and chronicles the return of The D in all their glory. They are BACK!!! Wu-Tang Wednesday: U-God & Method Man - "Wu-Tang"

We have been off the Wu Tang Wednesday bandwagon for a minute, but today we are back like we left something!!! Welcome to Wu Tang Wednesday, where we celebrate the wonderful history of music from the world's greatest hip hop group, the Wu Tang Clan!!! Today we check in on U-God, the least vocal member of the clan, who came out with a dope album entitled "Dopium" in 2010 to very little fanfare. One of the best tracks on the album was a collabo with the most popular member of the clan, Method Man, entitled "Wu-Tang". It features a banging beat that is very in line with what the clan was doing back in the mid 90s and the hook is quite catchy. The Beastie Boys Are Back... G.I. Joe Style!!!

This is the video for the Beastie Boys new song 'I Don't Play No Games That I Can't Win' featuring Santogold, and it's directed by one of my favorite director's, Spike Jonze. I have always loved Jonze's 'Sabotage' video he did for the Boys, so this one was a must see for me and he did not disappoint. I love the action figure stylings. Beyonce Has A New Video & She Is In Lingerie... Who Am I To Deprive You Of That?

Since there is absolutely no chance that you have seen this new Beyonce video on MTV, VH1 or BET (do they even show ANY videos on these channels anymore?) I figured I would share with you. Here is her new song 'Best Thing I NEVER Had'. I like this one... I have a soft spot for sweeping R&B songs like this. It doesn't hurt that Mrs. Hova spends the first half of the video in some sexy ass lingerie and then proceeds to put on a tube top wedding gown that has trouble containing her ample boobs... and that is why I am sharing it with you guys. There are also 5 still shots from the video after the jump. Get in there gang.... even if you don't like the song, watch it on mute. Best 5 minutes of my day so far... lol.

Wow... if Inspectah Deck was NOT a member of the Wu Tang and been in any other group, he probably would have been the biggest star of the lot. In the Wu he is like the 5th or 6th fiddle (not the 5th or 6th best, but probably the 5th most popular). Here is proof to that, the "Thundercat" freestyle that has the Rebel INS spitting over Royce da 5'9's 'Scary Movie' beat. This one is fire.... Happy Wu Tang Wednesday!!!

Wu Tang Wednesday - Cappadonna - Slang Editorial

Cappadonna was always one of my favorite supporting members of the Wu, and this was one of the songs that he really killed it on by himself. I always liked the video as well... some hard ass Wu shit for a gloomy day in Gotham. Check out Paulie Walnuts from The Sopranos catching a bad decision via Cappa. If it's gonna rain all day, might as well have some Wu to get through it....

A to Z Blogging Challenge - Day #24 - Letter X - Xzibit - Paparazzi

This is one of the greatest rap songs ever made. I say this with a straight face... 100%! The beat is amazing, and what makes it even more substantial is that this was The X Man's first song!!! This song brings back a ton of memories from South Broward High in 1995-1996, my man Tone Capone from Stixfigure, Big Vic and Richie Staples, and a great song amongst a ton of other amazing joints that came out around that time. The video is also just as stunning... peep these lyrics, my man X gets it in!!!



Even if you are not a fan of Rap you have to acknowledge that the beat on this one is beautifully hypnotic. Great job X.... leave the custom cars alone and make another song like this!

Watch Rapper DeStorm Re-Enact 9 Classic Movies In His Newest Music Video

Rapper DeStorm has a new video for his song "Famous Movies" and in it he re-enacts 9 famous movies... and he does it all in one take!!! Check it out:

Wu Tang Wednesday - Method Man - Release Yo' Delf

This was the lead single off Method Man's Tical album... and in my opinion is the start of the WU blowing up to the fullest extremes. They experienced group success with 36 Chambers, but it was Tical that put Meth out in front as the accepatble solo artists that paved the way for Dirty, Ghost, Rae, and the rest of the crew to achieve solo success. This song is so fuckimg awesome... the start is amazing and still gives me goosebumps everytime I hear it. Enjoy...

Britney's Back With A Geek-Tastic Video

I am not really a huge fan of Britney Spears... as a matter of fact I have, often, downright despised her throughout her career. But I just caught a glimpse of her new video 'Till The World Ends' and I gotta give props where props are due. Here are my reasons:

1. Britney is back to looking like a sexy pop star. She has come along way back from her shaved head and bloated redneck beer belly years.  
2. The video is playing up to the whole Mayan end of the world prophecy, and it features some geek-tastic steampunk type outfits on the people in the video. Its kinda cool.
3. The song is quite catchy and I think it will be a big summer dance song. I am a huge fan of pop music, so I can appreciate a good commercial song when I hear it.
