Behind The Scenes Of Star Wars...

Thanks to our contributor and CCD resident attorney Joe Esq, we get some behind the scenes shots from the Star Wars orginal trilogy. From the looks of some of these photos, it wasn't all kessel runs and force chokes going on in that galaxy far, far away. Here is a look at our favorites, with captions provided by yours truly. Click here to see the ones that weren't CCD worthy. They are all cool, but these were the ones we like the best:

Beach balls are much better than Hutt balls...

I'm gonna wax that Space Pirate ass...

She Ain't My Sister....

As my man Joe Quinn would say: "That dude is wearing a Capital V neck shirt son!!!"

Which one is the sister again???

The Hutt's love their slave sluts with a tan son!!!

"You guys find anything?" "Nah man, we ain't found shit!!!"

Put the Chewy mask back on Pete... it's an improvement!!!
"Alright, which one of you rebel dicks stole my chest armor???"
After a long day on set, I just want to "UN-WIND"... get it?

So, which ones do you like the best? Tell us in the comment section below... and dont be shy, make up some of your own captions as well!!!

Custom Painted Kicks From Across The Pond

My god these are some fine ass hand painted Nikes if I have ever seen 'em... these are killers. Artist Daniel Reese and the guys over at Brass Monki in England are painting just about whatever your little heart desires onto some White on White Dunks, and they are doing it well. Now although Nike and other companies frequently feature sneakers that are "inspired" by a character or movie, Brass Monki will give you the specific details from any inspiration you may have. Check those "Ultimate Captain America" joints above... briliant!!! Here are a few of the designs that I liked the best. Click the link above to see the full selection, and even send them an email with what you want and they will do it, no prob. But I hope you ready to get that dough up, cause most of these first class pieces of art for your feet will cost ya about 400 pounds (like 600 dollars US)... art don't come cheap, know what I mean? Which ones do you like the best? What would you get on your kicks? Tell us in the comment section below.

3 Seasons Of Death In Just Under 2 Minutes...

Just like the precision kills that Eric, Bill and the rest of the vamps on True Blood are so fond of making, we were treated to an awards show style "In Memoriam" clip to commemorate all the lovely folks who have met their demise on the show. From Bon Temps to Mississippi and back again, they hit on anyone who has met "The True Death" on the show. Yup, you got humans, vamps, wolves, manaeds, and all sorts of people catching a bad decision in this one. If you missed this on Sunday, here it is for your viewing pleasure. And if you seen it, watch it again... this shit is great!!!!

What did you guys think??? Tell us in the comment section below.

So This Is What Killed Patrick Swayze... What A Shame!!!

I took one look at this fan video of some ghetto dude serenading his crackhead/ half naked girlfriend and playing out the classic "Johnny and Baby" moves from Dirty Dancing. This had to be the cause of Swayze's death... had to. Check it out for yourself:

You want to know why I think there is no god??? Because he didn't let that animal chick get her head caught in a ceiling fan or fly over the top of her boyfriends head into a bookshelf like she was intended to. My goodness, WTF??? What are your thoughts on this video? Tell us in the comment section below.

The Comic Book Pull List by James West

Hello everybody! Today I begin my triumphant return to the comic book review world…let’s get started, shall we?

LEGION OF SUPER-HEROES #4 by Paul Levitz, Yildiray Cenar, Francis Portela

Long live the Legion! Seriously. I love the Legion of Super-heroes. Probably because they’re based in space which is almost always an automatic win for me (i.e. Green Lantern, Guardians of the Galaxy, Nova, what have you), but their very concept is so appealing to me. This is, of course, if they’re in a good book. The Legion has one of the most convoluted continuities in comic books. There was the first Legion, which existed from 1958 until 1994 when Hal Jordan went nuts, became Parallax, caused Zero Hour, and wiped them from existence…then there was their post-Zero Hour reboot, which was actually pretty good from what I remember (and the costume designs were probably collectively at their best)…and then in 2005 it was rebooted again, this time (regarded as the Threeboot…get it?)with writer Mark Waid (Kingdom Come, JLA: Year One, like every Flash book in the 90’s), and I’m reading some of those now and the story is fine but something about it just isn’t grabbing me…anyways. This current book takes place after yet another reboot, which says that all three of the versions of the Legion all exist just in different realities. The new book is about the classic original team, which is fine with me, because I think it helps clean up some of the overly complicated history. Well, to the actual review: Levitz does wonders, since these are the characters he built up quite well in the 70’s and 80’s, and each member (and there are a lot) manages to come off with their own “voice” and personality. The art is clean, but dynamic, and pretty much perfectly suits the book itself. My one complaint is Saturn Girl’s haircut…well anyway, the book just started, so if you want to pick it up, it you won’t regret anything.

JUSTICE LEAGUE OF AMERICA #48 by James Robinson and Mark Bagley

This issue finally wraps up the Justice Society crossover where the Starheart (magic meteor that gives Alan Scott his Green Lantern powers) goes ballistic and posses Alan and every man, woman, or child on Earth with some sort of latent meta-human ability connected with magic…pretty Apocalyptic stuff. Robinson/Bagley’s run has been very on and off for me, although this issue is all throughout pretty good. Everything culminates, ties up, reverts back to normal, et cetera…and it’s done in an exciting way. I like the way Robinson characterizes, but I just think there’s still a bad taste in my mouth from when, after two issues, the great line up he started with changed. We lost some characters I would like to have seen work with each other (Hal Jordan, Mon-El), and every time I see an opportunity where they could have been used effectively, I get disappointed…also, there is a size-changing British gorilla and a gay blue alien on the team instead of Wally West, who is currently doing nothing right now since Barry Allen is headlining the Flash title. So, right now, while JLA is pretty good, I just personally see a lot of missed opportunities. Dick Grayson is so bad ass, though.

JUSTICE LEAGUE: GENERATION LOST #8 by Judd Winick, Keith Giffen, and Aaron Lopresti

And DC’s currently/ consistently best book continues to deliver without disappointment. The classic Justice League International roster (Booster Gold, Captain Atom, Fire, and Ice) have teamed up with some new replacements of their former fallen members (Blue Beetle and Rocket Red), to hunt down Maxwell Lord, who has convinced the entire world (our protagonists aside) that he never even existed, let alone kill Ted Kord and try to take over the world. The book gracefully combines the comedic banter between the team mates and the very serious situation they are in. It really is just sooo good. And it comes out every two weeks (along with Brightest Day, which comes out any week GL doesn’t come out), and is about what is probably the most important event occurring in the DCU right now, save for maybe, just maybe, Bruce Wayne’s return. Speaking of, in a previous issue, Dick Grayson was shown to be doing his homework after Booster visited him. So, if he jumps on after convincing himself that maybe the JLI isn’t crazy…well that would pretty much be the only thing to make this book better.

That’s all folks! See you next time, and remember to support your local CBS (comic books store, for all you laymen out there).

Bye, Bye Endor...

The Star Tours Attraction has come to a halt, and in conjunction with the Celebration V Star Wars Convention in Orlando, there was a gala celebration to close the revolutionary ride. Fans of the series took to the streets of Disney World in Orlando to see some really cool Star Wars themed shows. The rewrote the Indiana Jones Stunt Spectacular to include Han Solo, Chewy, Slave Leia, and everybodies favorite dead green bountyhunter Greedo:

Is Greedo rocking Uggs??? WTF...
We also get an appearance from Darth Maul. This is a ton of fun, and Youtube has allowed the full clip to be posted in one video despite its 48 minute running time. Watch it while its ups there, cause it might not be up there for long:

Thanks to /Film for the story and the screenshot above. You guys rock!!!

Ok Bruce Willis, Lets Get To Work...

Bruce Willis is one of my favorite actors, and to be honest with you guys, it's not why you think. It's not because of the Die Hard movies (I do love them) or The Last Boyscout (unreal!!!) or any of the other billion dollar movies he has made... no, its because of his role as Hudson Hawk.

Now I know that this is not his best work, but this is the film that made me love Willis as an actor. Not to mention the fact its one of my all time favorites (don't knock it till you re-watch it... it holds up!!!)

Anyway, over the weekend there has been some grumbles about some really cool projects that may include the great Bruce in some capacity, and to be perfectly frank, his involvement in both of these projects makes them much more exciting for me.

First up, Sylvester Stallone has joined Twitter and one of his first Tweets was that he had a great idea for The Expendables Pt. 2. Why not bring back possible CIA affiliate Church (who was played by Willis) and make him the new villain? He was not totally honest with Sly and the team when he hired them to overthrow the drug trade in Vilena, so maybe the gang wants to go exact some revenge on Mr. Church? I like this because its not often big name actors get to play villains, and this can be fun. Especially if we get to see these 5 guys back in action again:

Next, we have a rumor that Willis himself is calling executives over at Marvel's movie division and is expressing interest in portraying Benjamin Grimm in the new Fantastic Four reboot. He would appear shortly in the beginning of the movie, and would voice the CGI version of the Big Orange Machine throughout the rest of the movie. Also rumored to be involved in this film are Adrien Brody for Mr. Fantastic and Amber Heard as Invisible Girl, and True Bloods favorite good guy vamp Stephen Moyer as the evil Dr. Doom. I kinda liked the campyness of the two FF movies, but I know they were cheesy. Can they make a truly cutting edge/ sci-fi version of FF??? With this cast they can.... lets see how this all plays out. If these rumors are true, please Bruce: Say YES!!!!

2 TV Remakes Coming Up This Fall That I Could Not Care Less About...

... until I saw the promo posters for them!!! These shows have been on my radar for a bit, but I was not so psyched for them because they would be rehashing older programs. But now that I have had the pleasure of checking out a few of the promo posters on the NYC subway system, my attitude may have changed. First up, we have a Hawaii Five-0 remake/sequel series.

The original show featured Jack Lord as McGarrett, leader of an elite unit that operated in Hawaii, the 50th state (get the title now???) Here is what the original looked like:

This is what they will be looking like now:

And they are adding a hottie to the team, young recruit Kona:

Scott Caan has been stealing scenes in everything he has been in his whole career, I can not wait to see Jin from Lost kick some ass, and I like that its a fresh take on the series... but  the main character will be a version of Jack Lord's characters son instead of trying to re-do that great 12 year run of Mcgarrett. I am in!!!

Next up, we have martial arts superwoman Maggie Q taking on the roll of Nikita. You have seen this character before in the classic 1990 Luc Besson movie Nikita, the 1993 American remake Point of No Return, and the late 90's TV show Le Femme Nikita. All of the incarnations have a beautiful secret agent that goes rouge against the organiztion that she works for, and involve lots of high powered guns and action. Since it was a 4th shot at this material, I was on yawn about this.... until I saw these posters:

Wowsers... on second thought... I might check this out. The CW has been doing alright with shows lately, and to be honest I can not think of a better role for Maggie Q. She is gorgeous, sexy, and more then capable to do the physical aspects of the role. And if you can bring yourself to stop looking at Ms. Q for a second (god-damn!!!) take a look at that artillery!!! I will give this a shot.

Both will be on the fall schedule, so stay tuned for when. I will be posting a fall TV preview shortly. Are you excited for these two new shows??? Tell us in the comment section below.

The New Ciara Video... Your Welcome Guys!!!

Wow.....you're welcome!

M. Night... Love 'Em Or Hate 'Em???

Everybody is poo-pooing all over M. Night Shyamalan lately. His last few films have not captured the audiences the way his first few films had (I think The Happening is the worst movie ever... EVER!!!). I have yet to see The Last Airbender, but its getting smashed by critics (like 12% fresh on Rotten Tomatoes), and believe it or not, some of our C-C-D friends that watcht he cartoon show saw it and thinks it was wonderful! Anyway, our man M is kind of embracing the hate... kinda. First, check out this fake movie he made for MTV called "Escalation", which is supposed to make fun of the new film he wrote (but did not direct) Devil (it takes place in an elevator. Get it, elevator-escalator... meh)

So he seems to be having some fun with the bad reactions he has been getting. The new movie, Devil, featured his name prominetly in the original print ads and TV spots:

Notice the "From the mind of M. Night Shyamalan" along the top of the poster? Seems like the studio wanted to push our boy M's involvement in this sucker. But the subway posters have just hit NYC, and with the film about to be released, they changed the poster a bit:

Same graphics on the poster, no credit to M Dog anymore.... Hmmmmmm, thats interesting, no??? Apparently M might be ok with the negative attitude the public has torwards him, but I do not think the studio finds it so funny. They have chosen to excise M -Diggity's name from the poster. Will people forget he was involved in this movie and maybe give it a good review? We will find out in the next few weeks once the film comes out in September. Till then, we say fuck the M-man haters.... 6th Sense and Unbreakable buys him a pass here at CCD anyday!!!

Well Hello Beau Garrett... Who The Hell Are You???

This is a new Hungarian (really???) movie poster from the upcoming Disney blocksbuster Tron: Legacy. This one features Beau Garrett as Jem, one of the Sirens. These Sirens operate the Grid Game Armory. I have one question though... where have you been hiding the lovely Beau Garrett in your marketing ads??? God damn, I think I want to see her up on the big screen a bit more than Olivia Wilde... alright, I am lying. I can't wait to see 'em both!!! Enjoy the poster. The film comes out in December.

Mark Grambau Super Hero Posters.... Wow!!!

These cool posters come from an artist named Mark Grambau. My good friend Cal from the Cave of Cool  posted these yesterday, and I was blown away. You can click the link above to check out the rest, but I chose the four that I loved the most for CCD. Tell Cal we said whatup when you check out the rest of the posters... if you love CCD, you will LOVE the Cave of Cool!!!

Reasons I Love Movies: Robberies Gone Wrong

I absolutely love movies, so I have decided to highlight certain aspects from films that I am fond of in order to bring some of my favorite silver screen moments to you. Today we will look at two different robberies that did not work out the way they were intended to. I tried to find the best clips I could, and I will tell you when during the clip the scene takes place. Let the laughs begin.

Mr. Deeds - 2002

Great staged mugging scene in order to bring recent billionaire Mr. Deeds in contact with reporter Babe Bennet. Poor Allen Covert takes a beating at around the 7:35 mark in this clip.

Coming To America - 1988

Honestly, everytime I see Samuel L. Jackson in ANYTHING I automatically think back to this botched robbery of McDowells from the Eddie Murphy classic film. Just one of many funny parts in the movie... honetly, Sam Jackson just catches a bad decision on this one.

Phantom City Creative Says Thanks Like This...

The dudes over at Phantom City Creative came correct in order to celebrate the 5th anniversary of the Toronto After Dark Film Festival. This film festival promotes horror, sci- fi, action, and cult films. PCC decided to create 5 posters in memory of the five films that they felt embody the best of what Toronto After Dark has had to offer over the last 5 years. All of these films have won awards at the festival, and I have seen them all... and they are great in their own quirky way. I especially love Dead Snow and Behind The Mask, and it just so happens that those are my favorite posters of the lot. You can pick up the posters for $20 bucks each by clicking the link above. Thanks to /Film for the tip. Tell us which one you like the most in the comment section below.

Film Posters From Around The World Vol#9 - The Departed

The Departed is a 2006 masterpiece of a movie from master filmmaker Martin Scorsese. It paired a Hollywood titan in Jack Nicholson with two fast rising stars, Leonardo Dicaprio and Matt Damon. The movie also features an excellent supporting cast of Mark Wahlberg, Alec Baldwin, Martin Sheen, Vera Farmiga, and Ray Winstone as various cops and robbers playing a role in the ongoing war for Boston's streets. The film is a re-telling of the Japanese trilogy Infernal Affairs, and also features some elements of real life gangster Whitey Bulger's life as a Boston based gangster. The film won Best Picture and got Scorsese his coveted Best Director Oscar. I absolutely love this film, and that's why I picked it for this weeks Film Posters From Around The World. If you have not seen it, make this a priority. That's that, enjoy the posters and give me some comments and thoughts on the classic film.
