OHC of the Day: Lucy Griffinths

Lucy Griffinths is the quintessential OHC candidate. OHC stands for Obscure Hot Chick, and Lucy is just that. It is not that she hasn't been working... oh that is not the case. She has had featured roles in two prominent British mini series (The Little House & Collision)  as well as a starring turn in the BBC's most recent production of Robin Hood. She is Maid Marian on the show, and she is a sexy bad ass that compliments Robin very well. For those of you who have never seen the series, go search it out. It is one of the better Robin Hoods ever. But all the Obscure stuff that exists about her stateside is about to go right out the window, as she is set to be the most notorious newcomer on Season 5 of True Blood. She is set to play Nora, a vampire on the show. But it is the character of Nora that will elevate her to stardom, because of two reasons: 1) The character was not from the books, she is made up for the show. This will probably cause a stir among fans. 2) The character will be the sister of Eric Northman (fan fave Alexander Skarsgard), so if she is on screen with the big viking she will sure to get some shine. It doesn't hurt that she is pretty beautiful with some of the best eyes I have ever seen. You may not know her yet, but you will real soon....

Silhouette Super Kids by Andy Fairhurst

Lots of artists  draw superheroes... nothing new there at all. But a good artist finds a niche way to make those famous heroes their own, whether it be a certain look that they give them or a certain medium that they draw them in. Andy Fairhurst's subjects may be familiar to you, but the way he chooses to convey them are quite unique. He uses a silhouette style to bring out the characteristics of the subjects, and he also chooses to portray them as kids. He has a series of 12 of these, which I included after the jump. But he also has lots of other great artwork, so click here to check it out...

Thanks to Jeff for another great find...

Harry Potter Supercut - Just the Spells!!!

Harry Potter is the most successful movie franchise of all time (financially anyway) and since there were 8 movies there is approximately a full days (close to 24 hours) of screen time. When you have that much screen time about a school of Wizards, there are bound to be some magical spells uttered. So of course someone decided to do a Supercut of Harry Potter, featuring just the spells. Now I know this is long at around 17 minutes, but I think it is great seeing Ron, Hermoine, and Harry as little 11 year olds from the earlier films. Such a great franchise... you can see the clip after the jump.

Growing Up Heroes - A New Tumblr That Shows The Fun Side Of Dressing Up

I find a lot of cool sites in my travels of the Internet, but I am always a happy camper when one of my cohorts here at CCD stumbles upon something cool and passes it along. Jeff Bond sent me this fantastic Tumblr called 'Growing Up Heroes', a website that allows people to upload pictures of themselves dressed up as Superheroes. The pictures are from 1960-now and some of them bring back a ton of memories!!! I have been through countless pages so far, and I plan on submitting all of my son Mikey's Halloween photos shortly because he has been some killer heroes (The Thing, Cap, Iron Man, Green Lantern, Hellboy, Obi Wan... and he did all of those long before their respective movies came out... all by his choice!). Click here to see the rest of the cool gallery's & click after the jump to see my faves...
