R.I.P.D. Gets A Trailer... Summer Movie Season Is On The Way!!!!

As I sit here and work on my Top Ten Most Anticipated Movies of The Summer 2013 I am finding myself hard to narrow down the list. With over 100 films opening between May & August, its hard to get to 10. But R.I.P.D. is one that has just narrowly missed the list. I own the original comic that this one is based on, and I certainly love me some Ryan Reynolds and Jeff Bridges. Plus you can't really get a better concept than Men In Black vs Ghosts instead of Aliens. This one looks like a fun summer popcorn flick, has actors I really like, and the always sexy Mary Louise Parker being her sassy self. June 19th I will be in the building. 'The Newsroom' Is The Reason To Watch TV This Summer

Last night I tuned into HBO's newest original program, 'The Newsroom'. The show comes from the mind of Aaron Sorkin, and boasts an all star cast with the likes of Jeff Daniels, Emily Mortimer, Allison Pill, Olivia Munn, Dev Patel,  and Sam Waterson. I was vaguely interested in the show, but I didn't have it as a must see on my agenda. I figured I would catch up to it eventually on DVR or On Demand. But last night after 'True Blood' ended and 'The Newsroom' was set to begin, I decided to tune in and see how it would go on the first night. What a great decision!!!!! The show was fantastic... without a doubt it opened with one of the greatest opening scenes ever and just continued to steamroll as the show went on. I was engrossed with the characters, the acting was spectacular (especially from Daniels as the gruff news anchor & Pill as the bubbly young assistant), and the shows writing shined brightly. All of this splashed against the backdrop of the BP oil spill... wow, just wow. I loved everything about this show and I can't wait to see how this first season plays out. My one disappointment from the first show? Had to be the fact that my Asian pear Olivia Munn did not appear in the first episode... but she will be coming up a lot in the next few episodes and I can't wait. Given the fact that 'True Bood' has fallen off and I didn't have much on the docket for this summer when it comes to TV, I am glad that 'The Newsroom' has come along to fill the void. lets see how it all plays out!!!! Tara Reid Plays EVERYBODY In 'The Big Lebowski Pt. 2'

A few months back, Tara Reid gave some drunk rambling on how she was looking forward to the start of filming on 'The Big Lebowski Pt. 2'. She couldn't wait to get cracking... trouble was, nobody else remotely new what the fuck she was talking about. Not the John Goodman, not Jeff Bridges, and definitely not the Coen Brothers. This lead to more redicule for the down and out Reid.... so what did she do? She teamed up with Funny or Die to make her version of 'The Big Lebowski Pt. 2'.

This is why anybody can become and stay famous now-a-days. She makes some retarded comment about a classic movie, everyone makes her look like the dumbass she is, and then they make a parody video starring her... WTF!!!! Pretty funny anyway... hope you enjoy.

Tron: The Next Day by JediRob

'Tron: Legacy' was one of my top anticipated movies last year. After all was said and done, it wasn’t quite a life changing experience, but with such ridiculous buildup, how could it be. I did enjoy it quite a bit, though. It was pretty much what I should have expected from a Tron sequel, and it was a ton of fun. I dug the Father and Son story, loved that it was a sequel and not just a straight up remake, enjoyed the Daft Funk score (robbed of an Oscar nod) and a showdown between 2 Jeff Bridgeses?!

Come oooon! Great stuff.

This week a short film examining the time between the first and second Tron films has popped up on the webs…



This bit is apparently included on the new Blu-Ray box set that is set to release April 5th.

This set looks very impressive. It comes in a variety of versions; the one pictured being the most ridiculous. It’ll include Legacy as well as the original “Tron” in HD for the first time, after some serious shenanigans from Disney. It’s also supposed to include some deleted scenes, that have yet to sneak their way onto the internet, which may or may not be leading towards a Tron 3. Or T3ON. Or ThReeON. Or something.

Honestly part of the thrill of Legacy was the long timespan in-between the films, so unless it’s in anther 30 years I’m not dying to hop on the lightcycle again. That said I do the think the preview for the upcoming animated 'Tron: Uprising' looks promising. It also takes place between the 2 movies and features the voice of the Tronster himself, Bruce Boxleitner.



I will of course watch a sequel in a heartbeat. And if they do I can only hope that includes the return of Sci-Fi legend David “there are five lights” Warner. He was of course alluded to in the appearance of his son in the surprising Cillian Murphy cameo. And if what I hear about the deleted scenes is true, there is a strong possibility he could be back.

The Tron Lebowski... Finally!

College Humor finally makes a video that mashes up Jeff Bridges' two most well known roles: The Dude from 'The Big Lebowski' & Kevin Flynn from 'Tron'!!!! I love them both, and have featured a cool mashup poster of the two that was made in the past. But this is what I have been waiting for. I can not believe it has be 25 years between the release of the first Tron and the start of filming on Tron: Legacy.... 28 years all together (by the time its released). But if The Dude abides... well, so do we.
