'Death Sled II: Steel Belted Romeos' May Be The Craziest Short Film I Have Ever Seen...

Thanks to an anonymous commentator (sign in as a member and tell us who ya are!!!) in a story I ran about The Human Centipede II trailer, I was directed to a link for this awesome short film by director Danny Plotnick entitled Death Sled II: Steel Belted Romeos. With my interests fully piqued, I clicked the Youtube play button and was mystified by the gritty grindhouse-ness of this wonderful 10 minute film. It is absolutely insane... click after the jump to read a synopsis and watch the whole 10 minute film for yourself.

This is what Plotnick had to say about the film on his webpage:

A tale of backwood blacktop mayhem--- Two dimmed-witted, lead footed guidos from Bayonne, New Jersey bust through stoplight after stoplight in their turbo-charged, fuel-injected Pontiac Grand Prix until their mean machine nearly eighty-sixes another hunk of American Steel. And that's just the start of it... A confrontation, an assault, fist-a-flying, and traffic violations. 1990. Super 8.
Yup... this isn't just another stylized short trying to capitalize on the gritty trend made famous by recent films such as Grindhouse, Machete, and Hobo With A Shotgun. It came out in 1990 and was shot in actual Super 8. That scores major points for me... plus, there are guidos. How can you go wrong with guidos, ever? Give me your thoughts on this sick ass short in the comment section below.

Best Action Figures.... EVER!!!!!

Check out these incredibly realistic action figures for Aunt Beru & Uncle Owen, the extended family that raised Luke on Tattooine. After looking at them, I can't really tell if the figures mirror Beru & Owen from Episode IV or from the Prequels... see for yourself after the jump and leave your comments below.

Realistic, no???

Elevators Of Blood... Oh Yeah!!!!

I came across this awesome photoshop over at Popped Culture that explains the "Elevators of Blood" scene from Stanley Kubrick's adaption of The Shining... and now it all makes sense!!! Click after the jump to see it all finally explained....

Now This Is A Sequel I Don't Have Any Problems With Whatsoever...

It has been quite a while (over 20 years actually) since Bill S. Preston, Esquire and Theodore "Ted" Logan graced the big screen on their epic Bogus Journey. For the last couple of years we have been getting some information in drips about a proposed third film in the franchise, most of that coming from Alex Winter (the guy who played Bill and has become a successful movie director).  Well know thanks to the Facebook page for the third film, we have a teaser poster. It is glorious.... see it in full size after the jump.

Here is the poster:

The synopsis sounds pretty cool as well. Here is what Winter had to say about the plot of the film:
"When we last go together, part of it was that Bill & Ted were supposed to have written the song that saved the world, and it hasn't happened... So they've now become kind of obsessed by trying to do that. Then there is the element of time and having to go back."
Sounds good to me... how about you guys? Tell me what you think of this proposed sequel in the comment section below. Thanks to my buddy Dave over at Exophrine for the tip.

'I'd Buy That...As a Tee!' Vol 20

Always on the look out for inspiring art... emblazoned across the chest of humanity. Here's some of the t-shirts I have my eye on to do just the trick but, there's only one problem....they aren't for sale yet! Please click the links below to the Threadless.com voting pages for each and give these beauties '5' ratings so I can throw 'em on my charge card one day.

***Please click READ MORE below for more terrific tees from Threadless!***

'Johnny Who?' Depps abound in this minimalistic homage to Burton & Verbinski's muse. Can you name 'em all from left to right.....

Comical and tragic at the same time. 'Cybertron High Drama Club' enlists the help of the iconic drama mask images to school us in the arts.

'Mistaken Identity' has our favorite Star Wars pilots on target with the man in the moon. Yoo-hoo, Death Star's the other way Rebel scum!

'Police Line-Up' make me feel horrible for my favorite Star Wars snow beast, The Wampa, after he gives Luke a hand in the icy caves of Hoth. Looks like the perpetrator's just been fingered.

'Indiana Monster & The Last Cookie' mashes up two of my favorites  the Harrison Ford adventure epic....and Muppets. (Note to artists...anything plus Muppets equals fantastic!)

Don't blink or you'll miss the art in 'Flash Minimal Design'. Basic yet super!

Threadless started a Polo shirt contest this week for breast emblem designs and, so far, it's gotten off to a snazzy start!

First, 'Enter The Dragon' Is a pretty neat send off to all that is great about Kug Fu-ery!

Then there's this precursor to the LaCoste gator..... 'The Rex'

...but my favorite Polo design was this Han Solo blaster in 'Han's Polo'...pewn pewn! Han shot first!

Back to the tee designs, my absolute favorite of the week has to this E.T./Alf mash up which was done with  perfection entitled 'Willie's Trip To Melmac'. Makes me hungry for a feline four course meal! A.L.F phone home!

...That's all t-shirt wearers! Tee you next time!

Dark Knight Detective by Declan Shalvey

I love this proposed comic idea by artist Declan Shalvey. He enjoys the hard boiled crime side of the Batman mythos, as do I. I would love to see this book, and Declan's cover would be perfect. Click after the jump to see the cover in all it's full-sized glory and get a description from Declan himself.

Here is what Declan had to say about the piece over on ComicTwart:

This is what I would love to do at DC, if ever given the chance.
Dark Knight Detective, a crime series set in Gotham City. Not a superhero book. It would be a mix of Batman: The Animated Series, Year One, Gotham Central, and The Wire. This would be a more street level book with the emphasis on the Batman solving actual crimes instead of fighting super-villains all the time. Someday...

Penney Design Takes Modern Properties And Blasts Them Back To The Past

Penney Design is a very talented graphic design firm from jolly 'ole England and they have organized a project that caught my attention when surfing the 'Net. They took modern film & TV show properties and re-imagined them as Atari 2600 era video games (the CVS, or Cartridge Video Game system... very clever), both boxes & cartridges. Check 'em all out after the jump.

I really like all of the details, such as the level information on the front of the boxes and the handwritten notes in pen that show the years of ownership that these items would have gone through. Beautifully done.

First, the box art:

And now the games themselves:

The History Of The WWF Championship In A Minimalist Poster

This poster is part of a project by the very talented Shahed Syed, an architect in training who specializes in 3-D images and infographics. He compiled an amazing infographic on the history of the WWF Championship between the years 1984-2002 (click here to see it) that is superimposed over a heavyweight belt. It is awesome. But here is a poster that features the icon images of each wrestler used in the infographic itself, and it is a piece of minimalist gold. Click to see the poster after the jump.

This is just so awesome. Takes me back to the good old days of Saturday Night's Main Event, Battle Royale's with everyone trying to gang up on Big John Studd or Andre The Giant, and Hulk Hogan's Saturday Morning Cartoon. A great time in wrestling history. Here is the poster.

Can you name them all? Try to do it in the comments section below. I am lost on a few... (they are not in chronological order). Good Luck....

OHC of the Day: Olga Fonda

'OHC' stands for Obscure Hot Chick of the day... just another beautiful actress that you may or may not know of yet...but, we are sure you will soon. Today's Russian-born up-and-cummer is Olga Fonda (born Olga Tchakova)

After some small roles on F/X's 'Nip/Tuck' and ABC's 'Ugly Betty' Ms. Fonda landed some equally small roles in HBO's 'Entourage' and CBS's 'How I Met Your Mother', but this model turned actress is not your mother and is certainly no ugly Betty. After a quick stint in the Ben Stiller/Robert DeNiro vehicle 'Little Fockers' Olga has landed a role in the upcoming Rock 'Em Sock 'Em robotic family action thriller 'Real Steel' opposite, Wolverine himself, Hugh Jackman and some of her photos may make you want to jack off, man. Enjoy!
