Proof That There Is A God: Dana Delany

I have been watching the 1993 western classic Tombstone over and for the past few weeks because it has been playing like crazy on HBO. I was immediately transported back to 1993, in my families Queens home, watching my illegal cable box. This magic box gave us all the pay per view movies we could watch, and basically they would make 3 movies available at a time on three channels and just loop them repeatedly. I must have watched Tombstone a billion times that two weeks when it was on Pay Per View. It is such a great movie. One of the all around greatest casts in movie history. Val Kilmer as Doc Holiday is amazing. Michael Biehn as Johnny Ringo. The shoot outs. The wild west settings. Billy FUCKING Zane & Brandon Walsh!!!!! But the one thing that always stuck out to me was the sexy actress Josephine Marcus that comes to Tombstone with Billy Zane, the lovely actress known as Dana Delany. What a sexy lady. Class personified. She would go on to have a long career behind the animated camera (she was often the voice of Lois Lane in DC animated films of the 90s/00s) and in front of the TV/Movie cameras as well (Exit to Eden, China Beach, Desperate Housewives, Body of Proof). I always loved that sexy lady... so here are a few shots to remember just how beautiful she really is!!!!

Injustice: Gods Among Us Combines The JLA With 1984

I always liked the stories where the superheroes are twisted into the authoritarian villains. They always start out with the best of intentions but in the end, being a hero is all about sacrifice, not control. I see things like this and I so wish I was a gamer who could totally get into the whole world and experience. With the footage they do have I wish someone could create a neat little computer generated feature of the story that is incorporated into the video game. Click after the jump for the trailer and some stills of the characters...

Credit where credit is due, the premise of Injustice does sound it would make for an interesting comic book story. After the Justice League fails to prevent the Joker from detonating a nuclear device in Metropolis, DC's superheroes start assert direct control over the populace to ensure such disasters never happen again. Presumably years later, a faction within the League finally starts to realize they've gone too far, putting them at odds with Superman and Wonder Woman's totalitarian regime. The new "insurgency" movement, which includes Batman, Flash, Lex Luthor, and Harley Quinn, enacts a bold plan to set things right; how much that plan will involve a series of three round Beat-Em-Up matches remains to be seen.

I also like these slightly altered designs that reflect a more dark approach to the job of hero. Follow the link at the bottom of the page to learn more about the game.

'Dead Man's Lake' - A Short Film by Bloody Cuts Film

Bloody Cuts Films is a UK based outlet that is in the middle of creating an anthology of short horror movies that are being posted over at their Youtube channel. The coolest part about this whole thing has to be the sheer difference in tone and content of each of the videos in the series they have posted. They are 6 films in to the proposed 13 film series, and the latest entry is called Dead Man's Lake. It has a bit of a twist of the Tucker & Dale vs Evil to it, as well as the elements of 80s camper slashers present as well. Pretty cool horror short from a great group of people over at Bloody Cuts. Thanks to Jeffie Bond for the tip! Enjoy the movie after the jump...

Presidential Monster Figures

Tell me if these are cool or if they are beyond stupid. I have lost perspective and can't tell anymore. You can check them out after the jump...

Updated Portraits by Fab Ciraolo

Fab Ciraolo has a very unique style to his art. It is batshit crazy... and that is what makes it so fantastic. Fab takes very familiar characters (some real life people, some fictional) and portrays them in a different light. A light that may not be what you expect. When I think Beetlejuice I think a black and white striped suit. He Man, bearskin draws and his chest straps jump into my head. Marilyn Monroe is always in a puffy dress in my head. Mother Teresa is always in a habit... But not in the world of Fab Ciraolo. here, Frankenstien is a part animal club kid. Marilyn & Mother Teresa are hipster chicks with tats. Beetlejuice channels his inner James Dean. He-Man is an avid golfer. These are so great. There are tons of his works available for you to see on his website (click here and see it all!), and see some of my faves after the jump...

Sonic the Hedgehog Fan Film by Blue Core Studios

There are fan films... and then there are FAN FILMS! You know what i mean. A regular fan film will be 2-3 minutes in length and may feature a cool moment when you see flashes of brilliance from the person who put it together. But when dealing with a FAN FILM! you are automatically thrust into a uber realistic movie experience that is usually quite long in length and features outstanding effects and looks fucking great. There is a big difference. These are life changing, since you probably will never get a big budget version of these films. But since they are so good, you don't really need a studio version. Case in point: Blue Core Studios and their Sonic the Hedgehog fan film. 18 minutes long. A digital Sonic with wisecracks to spare. Killer action. robots. spaceships. This is fucking great. By far the best way to spend 20 minutes today (and if you have more time, watch their epic Mega Man video there as well). Enjoy the work after the jump... and try to not hearken back to the Sega Genesis days of your youth to hard while at your cubicle!!!!

The Magic Of Miranda

If I have to live in a world with supermodels I am happy that there is a Miranda Kerr to fill the role. Usually fashion models have cold dead eyes but the ones who show some life behind the make-up take beauty to a whole new level. Kate Upton is like that and so is Miranda Kerr. This latest photospread only proves my point. Check out the pics after the jump to see for yourself...
