Pacific Rim: Holy F'n Shit... Giant Robots vs Kaiju's

I am speechless... I am without speech. Guillermo del Torro is back and he is bringing along two Sons of Anarchy, one of the owners of Paddy's Pub, and Stringer Bell along for the ride in the battle of giant robots vs. kaiju's (giant Japanese monsters) in Pacific Rim. The movie stars Charlie Hunam & Ron Pearlman (Jax and Clay from Sons), Charlie Day (It's Always Sunny In Philadelphia) and Idris Elba (The Wire) taking on classic Japanese monsters that are reminiscent of Ultraman & Godzilla. If anyone is going to bring back the genre, I am glad that it is Guillermo. I met the dude at NY Comic Con this year and when I asked him about Pacific Rim he just smiled a creepy little kid grin and said "You'll see... and you will love it!". After this full length trailer and with the cast, I would say that is a safe bet. The movie comes out July 11th, 2013. Click after the jump for the full trailer...

'Punisher: Dirty Laundry' - A Punisher Fan Film Featuring Thomas Jane!!!

If I was a big time movie star with big money I would spend many of my off days doing shit like this. Thomas Jane portrayed Marvel Comics favorite vigilante The Punisher in a big screen film back in 2004. It wasn't a great film (John Travolta's villain was a joke) but featured some great action scenes, especially the family BBQ massacre. Turns out Jane is a huge fan of The Punisher and just because there was never a sequel made featuring Jane doesn't mean that he can't still flex his muscles a bit in the character. 'Dirty Laundry' is a very cool short that brings Jane back into the fold as The Punisher & even features a cameo from Hellboy himself, Ron Pearlman. This one has good action, a developed story for a short, and shows the best parts of Jane's version of the iconic character. Hopefully somewhere in the future we will finally get a Punisher film that gets the character correct the way this short did. Check out the video after the jump...

'Bad Ass' Looks Pretty... Bad ASS!!!

The trailer for Danny Trejo's new flick 'Bad Ass' has been making it's way around the Internet, and it is sparking all types of controversy. Is this a real movie? is this really gonna happen? Can a film possibly be THIS BAD ASS? Trejo looks like he is going even more over the top than he did in Machette... and that is WAY over the top. But on another note, I think this is exactly what Trejo should be doing. These movies are wacky, look like they are relatively inexpensive to make, and are putting Trejo in a starring role instead of being a supporting character. Considering the success of grindhouse-type fare such as Hobo With A Shotgun, Death Proof and Machete in recent years, I think this would go over gangbusters. Enter in Ron "Hellboy" Pearlman and Charles "Roc" Dutton into the mix and this movie looks unreal. What do you guys think? The New Conan Reboot Gets Some Posters... What Do You Guys Think?

Here are some of the specific character posters for the upcoming Conan the Barbarian reboot. These feature Jason Momoa as Conan, Rachel Nichols as Tamara, Rose McGowan as Marique, Stephen Lang as Khalar Zym, and Ron Pearlman as Corin. They look pretty good, despite the fact that the footage I have seen so far has not impressed me at all. But then again, James Earl Jones's head did deflate and melt in one of the older Conan's, so it is not like the effects bar was ever all that high (Admit it. I love the old ones two, but calling them fantastic visually would be a farce.). We shall find out on August 19th.
