The CCD Podcast: Episode #93 - B v S v CCD: The Definitive Batman v Superman Review
Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice has finally arrived, and as one could imagine it has fueled lots of talk... some good, some bad. Some up, some down. But one thing is certain: A hell of a lot of folks turned out to see it! 470 Million dollars on its worldwide release. Man... that is some windfall! But when a film that was 3 years in the making and is poised to be the foundation of the future DC Comic Movie Universe is finally released... well, you are going to hear some mixed reviews! And that was the case here at CCD as well. For our take (or take down, depending who you ask over here..) Jedi Rob brought in two hardcore DC fans to chime in: Anthony Marino from Brooklyn One Productions and Mike D are on the show chopping it up, talking about what they liked, hated, loved and loathe about BvS...
This may very well be the most divisive and argumentative podcast we have done so far... the lovefest for everything we discuss is OVER! Enjoy the podcast after the jump....

The CCD Podcast: Episode #92 - The BBQ Films Crew Visit The CCD Nerd Cave!!!
A few month ago some of the CCD.NYC gang had the pleasure of attending the "Blade Blood Rave", and actual real life recreation of the infamous opening scene from the Wesley Snipes movie. It was as if you were transported right through the screen and into the movie... and this came courtesy of the BBQ Films crew!
This gang of pop culture/movie loving maniacs throw these type of awesome interactive events all the time, and they are getting wilder and wilder with each one. The Enchantment Under the Sea Dance from Back to the Future? Yup, they did it. Rex Manning Day from Empire Records? Mon Amour, Mi Amour... they did that too. And there latest is just as ambitious and amazing: They want you to attend and help STOP, Beetlejuice's Wedding to Lydia Deetz! Yup... It is going to be exactly what you think. And you should go (buy tickets here).
We had two of the founding members of the BBQ Films crew, Gabriel Rhoads and Laura Lickus, come down to our turf (the CCD Nerd Cave) and sit down with Jedi Rob and Alicia Gomes to talk all about it... as well as many other topics related to the overall love of pop culture films we all love! Check out another great episode of the CCD Podcast...

The CCD Podcast: Episode #91 - A Discussion On Psycho-biological Horror
Before anybody brings it up, we know PSYCHO-BIOLOGICAL is a made up word... but when trying to describe this sub-genre of films it really is the only title that fits. These films are visceral... they explore the lack of comfort that most people traditionally have with their bodies and how that effects them in a mental capacity as well. And no two directors have films that fit into this genre more than David Lynch and David Cronenberg. Jedi Rob sits down with two filmmakers, Leland James (The Fix Documentary) and Randal Kaplan (Boxhead) to discuss those two influential filmmakers as well as many other directors and films in this bizarre genre. The conversation gets a bit interesting to say the least...,.

BBQ Films & The Deets Family Need Your Help... Only You Can Stop The Wedding of Beetleguese & Lydia!
Anyone worth their weight in sandworms knows the Tim Burton classic film Beetlejuice back and forth... it is a classic 80s film that hardly anyone can find a negative word to say about. So when BBQ Films was looking for a film to be the next subject of one of their wildly interactive film screenings, it seemed like a no-brainer that this piece of celluloid perfection be the choice! After some brainstorming sessions over pizza and wine ( I was there... both were plentiful!) and careful planning, another exciting event is ready to go! These are the guys & gals who brought you the Back to the Future/Enchantment Under the Sea Dance, The Blade Blood Rave and American Psycho's own Patrick Bateman's 27th Bday Party... So what will it be this time? Well.... they desperately need your help to STOP the nuptials of a nasty denizen of netherworld and a confused Gothic teenager! Check out the details after the jump...
On Saturday March 19th and Sunday March 20th BBQ Films is inviting you (actually pleading with you!) to come on down to the House of Yes in Brooklyn, NY to stop the nuptials of Beetleguese & the lovely Lydia Deets. There will be a full on screening of the film, interactive actors and actresses bringing the film to life, and will be accompanied by all types of Beetlejuice themed shenanigans as only the crew of BBQ Films can bring! There will be an undead photo booth, a limited edition film poster, gourmet popcorn, and even a chance for members of the wedding party (the VIP ticket holders) to be married by the monstrous wedding officiant themselves!!! There will be awesome sets and scenery recreating all of the familiar images from Burton's awesomely visual film, and refreshments that will channel the best memories we have of the Ghost with the Most!
You can buy your tickets here... but you better hurry, because these events sell out fast! You can also get some awesome background information on the BBQ Film crew by checking out their interactive website. Click here to see all the pics and press from the past events if you need any motivation to make your purchase, but my guess is that you are as psyched as me and will be grabbing them up ASAP!
You will see the CCD.NYC fam in the house, and we will have some cool collaborations with BBQ Films in the future... so come on down and lets stop this wedding!
