Today is March 9th... a day that will forever go down in infamy for hip hop fans everywhere. 15 years ago today The Notorious B.I.G. was gunned down in Los Angeles after performing a show. It came at the height of the East Coast/West Coast rap wars and just a few short years after Tupac himself had been gunned downed. I remember the day vividly... I was at the mall with my friend Anthony in Upstate NY when Hot 97 made the announcement. It wasn't the current era of instant news and real time updates via the web. The news was slow to come out and wasn't really confirmed until much later in the day. All I know is that I was crushed. My favorite rapper was gone, just a few short weeks before the world would get to hear his second album. God I miss ya B.I.G...
