I love this Alex Ross Painting... awesome! |
Forget 9-11... Not being able to find Weapons of Mass Destruction in Iraq... Never catching Osama Bin Laden.... Hurricane Katrina and the fall of New Orleans... Declaring that the war in the Middle East was over 100 days in despite the fact we are still fighting the same war right now... The economy taking to levels of Depression era numbers... nope, none of these tragedies were what really gave George W. Bush his worst moments of agony during his presidency was when Kanye West called him out for "Not Caring about Black People" during the Hurricane Katrina fundraiser....
WAIT... WHAT!!!! THIS IS HIS WORST MOMENT OF HS PRESIDENCY??? I CAN NOT BELIEVE THIS. THERE IS NO WAY HE SAID THIS....
Good thing you don't have to take my word for it. Here is an excerpt from the former President's upcoming new memoir, Decision Points:
"Five years later I can barely write those words without feeling disgust." You go on. "I faced a lot of criticism as President. I didn't like hearing people claim that I lied about Iraq's weapons of mass destruction or cut taxes to benefit the rich. But the suggestion that I was racist because of the response to Katrina represented an all time low."Those are his words... from his book. Honestly, I can not believe the level of stupidity being exhibited here. I can see why anybody, Bush included, would take exception to being taken to task so harshly by some current pop star like Kanye West. Fuck Kanye West... that was a dick move (Kanye is known for them, check his track record!). But I'm not mad that W was upset. I'm mad cause he said its the worst thing that happen while he was in office. You gotta be fucking kidding me. The best is that Matt Lauer gives him a shot during an interview to properly state what he really meant by his comments (maybe W was misunderstood)... and what does this guy say:
MATT LAUER: You say you told Laura at the time it was the worst moment of your Presidency?
PRESIDENT GEORGE W. BUSH: Yeah. I still feel that way as you read those words. I felt 'em when I heard 'em, felt 'em when I wrote 'em and I felt 'em when I'm listening to 'em.
PRESIDENT GEORGE W. BUSH: Yes. My record was strong I felt when it came to race relations and giving people a chance. And-- it was a disgusting moment.
Good fucking God. It's like Michael Jackson saying he would still have sleepovers with kids AFTER he got past the child molestation issues. Why W??? All he had to do was say it hurt his feelings... he could have even said it hurt his feelings REAL BAD. But the worst thing that happen? When you got all those things we mentioned above happening (plus way more!!!) during your two terms? No W, this is ridiculous.... even for you. Kanye West was a dick, and you did not deserve that label as "Not caring about black people"... but you are so much worse for singling out this incident as the worst thing that happened to you. The only way you can come to that conclusion would have to be if you were in denial over all of those above mentioned tragedies. Guess that's the case. That's truly a shame.
Tell us what you think about George W's comments and whether or not you feel they are justified or batshit crazy in the comments section below. I would love to here what you guys have to say about this one...
Frankly, what he said didn't surprise me. He never did understand the suffering of the American people. He was sheltered all his life from his fuck-ups and surrounded himself with yes-men who knew how to manipulate him to advance their own agenda's. 8 years the world had to put up with this numnut who had the power to really mess up people's lives. Kanye was the worst thing of his presidency? Fuck him and all those who supported him then and now. What a loser. I hope he lives long enough to hear what a shitty president he was over and over again.
ReplyDeleteI'd give him a little bit of credit, more so than to think that someone calling him racist supersedes the death of thousands. The way I read it, was that he took it as the low point in terms of his relations (or, what he saw as his relations) with the American people, and it was probably the most publicized personal attack on him as well. Lord knows he's not the most articulate person out there...
ReplyDeletethat he believes someone calling him racist*
ReplyDeleteI here ya James... honestly, I don't understand how stuff like this happens. I know he probably had a ghostwriter for most of this (most politicans do...) and tons of editors looking over the contents of the book. Not to mention advisers and the such... how do they let him say this is beyond me!!! How does nobody step in and say "Don't do that" to him, even if he wants to. I don't get it. I got my beefs with W and some other politicians (I am not so happy with Mr Obama right now either!) but I am just appalled that he still finds a way to make himself look dumb. Even if this is 100% true, which it very well might be... you can not say this as a former leader of the free world. Not possible. You can not rank that as a low point... not with 9-11, war, financial collapse, Katrina, aftermath of Katrina, and so forth happening during your 8 year run. But thats just my opinon. He should have said it bothered him, or said it still bothers him... but it can not be the worst!!!!
ReplyDeleteDefinitely not the worst. I would say it was the worst personal attack on him, if that's what he meant. Then again, one of my gifts/curses is to always give the benefit of the doubt...oh well...
ReplyDeleteThis guy's a moron..
ReplyDeleteHey Mike, this new blue font is a little hard to read against the black background. Just my opinion.
Dolt.
ReplyDeleteLauer even gave him a chance to kinda wiggle out of that Kanye West moment and make it about Katrina IN GENERAL and he still pretty much held fast that Kanye's Words toward him were the single worst moments of his presidency. I can count 11 worse things off the top of my head. It just shows this guys mindset.

Conan's doing great in my opinion.
ReplyDeleteKudos for Tom Hanks for being such a cool dude all the time on Conan's show. And a 'SoundGarden' appearance? Awesome!
The premiere episode had my favorite...Leah Michele and that did not suck! Seth Rogen isn't a very good guest in general though. I think Conan is just duplicating his first week as host of the Tonight Show though...I believe most of these actors were around for the first month there.
