I Like This... But Not For The Reasons You Think

Martyrs, a french horror/torture film by Pascal Laugier, is one of the most disturbing and fucked up movie I have ever seen... and thats saying a lot, since I seek out disturbing and fucked up movies out. I will not say anything about the movie other than that it is extremely graphic and a lot to handle both visually and mentally... see this movie. Like most great international movies, some studio here has bought the rights to remake it. The group heading up this project is lead by one of the producers of Twilight, and naturally he wants Kristen Stewart in the starring role. Now I know everybody is growing tired of K-Stew and the Twilight craze... but I am all for this. Here is why.

Personally, I think Kristen Stewart is kinda hot. In that awkward, alternate hot way. She is not Eva Mendes or Scarlett Johansson, but she got a certain cuteness and everygirl in her. But people are really getting tired of her woe-is-me attitude in which she seems to be pissed off all the time about the success of her Twilight films... and frankly, I am too. Be happy for yourself, you miserable bastard. You are a star!!!! Enjoy it... But I think she would be a great fit because lets just say the main character in Martyrs has a rough going of it. I will not spoil it for those of you who have not seen it yeat, but lets just say things are not all peachy keen for the star of that movie. So if she does get the role, then people who like her get to see her in a cool role... and people who hate her get to watch her get put through the fucking ringer. You have never seen the shit like Laugier put his lead actress through, so if she gets half of that... well lets just say you K-Stew haters will be all smiles (You sick fucks You!!!) Either way, I don't care who plays the role... just don't fuck up this classic movie. Thats a simple request, but a tall order for Hollywood, who often fucks these international imports beyond all recognition.

  1. Oooooo this movie sounds awesome! I love international horror films because they know how to do it right. If Stewart us in the American version, I'm okay with that. I don't hate the girl, which some of you might think after my last blog, I just wish she was a bit happier with her life the world would kill to have. I think I'll see the international and American version. Thanks Mike!

  2. I am annoyed that they are re-making this. US filmmakers will not get this right. What makes most international horror films great to watch are their gritty style, realistic storytelling, and the raw yet never over the top gore. US studios, producers, filmmakers are way too shallow and corny to capture this.

K-Stew has a face that could I could punch. Specifically cause her crooked mouth bugs me. I bet she chews with her mouth open. Slob. She also can't act for shit. I was only able to tolerate her in movies like Panic Room & Adventureland because she had limited speaking parts. Name me a decent movie this girl has carried on her own and I will let you live.

This movie will 98.7% suck because she was casted in it.

    I love rainbow iceies.

  3. KMG, your back!!!! I agree. I like her in Adventureland, and I think she is kinda cute-ish, but I agree with your analysis on her, and horror movies from abroad. It seems that the international horror directors are on some 70's and 80's american horror director shit... channeling Tobe Hooper, John Carpenter, and Wes Craven from that era... Check out High Tension, Audition, or The Human Centipede (and Martyrs, of course) to see what I mean.
