The Light Cycles in Tron Legacy Are Giving Me A Nerd Boner

I was only 3 years old when the original Tron came out. I do not remember it in theaters, but back then  things were a bit slower then they are now, and it took a while for it to hit VHS. I must have been around 5 or so the first time I saw Tron, and it blew me away. The visuals were stunning, and despite the fact I had no comprehension of what was actually going on with the highly technical story, it looked cool as shit. The standout cool item of the movie, for me anyway, was the light cycles. Suped up motorcycles of the future, these light cycles made for some of the coolest features in the movie. I also remember going to the Bow Wow, a local video aracde, and playing the Tron game... which featured the aforementioned light cycles... many a quarter was pumped into those machines!!! So naturally, when I heard that 28 years later (Thats soooo long) there was going to be a Tron sequel, I hoped and prayed they would get the light cycles right... and it looks like they did. Here are a few screen shots of the upcoming Tron Legacy light cycles.... hope they bring you nerd joy that they have brought me. Tron Legacy hits theaters hits theaters December 17, 2010. Check the Tron Legacy IMDB page here. Enjoy!!!

  3. I need to see this film....and the original. Mike you sure other people have seen the original?

J/K I know it was a huge mega hit with the little people back in the day. I just missed the boat. Same thing happened with me with 'Krull'. All the neighborhood kids got to see it and I was left the f*ck out. I'll always hate you for this, neighborhood kids!
